Another way is just to hover 2000ft over the top of the herd.  If 38's wait and see how many proxies you get from them compressing in a dive.

Yup those are the kind of fights I like....hoping for proxies

Things i do in these situations.

1. climb to about 20k to be sure I'm above the blob, most of them are in a hurry to kill one building so they are usually 7-10k
2. start off outside their radar ring and look for Jabos to pick.
3. kill Jabos that just made their run on town/base while they are climbing back up.
4. kill goons if I'm low enough to see them.
5. Ho every spit16 in sight

You are not going to stop it but you can ruin some of their days, they want to live otherwise they wouldn't fly in packs of 30

Read the dar bars and you will rarely be caught off guard.

Most guys break dar when they take off or as they try to level NOE so you can easily see most NOE attacks when they up because a sizable dar bar shows and disappears just as quickly.

I have to disagree with this...yes all sides horde...however....how they conduct themselves within a hording base take and is very different matter......

Bish is just plain madness...absolutely no style at all....hmmm well they do have a style..theirs, they kick bite scratch pull hair and flatten everything with no regard..why care...we can just up again..eventually they won't be able to defend and we will get it boys...just keep going and even before the base is taken the next mass of planes is ready to lift...when rolling like this there is absolutely no care for defense, bang crash bang...let's flatten the world boys  whoop whoop........

Knits... what can you say?!?!...when they finally turn up in the same area at the same time they will offer a little bit of variety...this shows in how they lose total advantage many many times...if they are lucky either somebody actually gets a little order within the ranks and they get a base( I think that this is due more to the confusion of the opposing side,  the wonderment of oh look they have some order messes with the mindset they have got set into, and by the time they snap out of it knits have snuck in a troop carrier ...
or they will accidentally get troops to the map room and call around to find out who got them in...as it is as much of a surprise to them as it is to the opposition...

Rooks are by far the most systematic and professional.....they take and resupply before rolling another base, they have and maintain an actual fighter cap...not some sporadic group session of lead and explosions... they also generally keep things up so that they can actually give a small sense of hope to the opposition....and let's be honest, get some cheap kills too ;))

Now there are exceptions for sure...however in general terms, this is my unofficial laymans observations....I have defended against all sides in all types of frenzied states and this is how I see it more often than not....and I hate all sides equally  :D

All sides hoard.  All sides hord dweebishly.

Not seeing that is only misleading yourself.

Agreed, I have in a single booming and zooming p51 broken up many Bish P38 raids and 1 47 raid.  So much fun swooping in and targeting a guy until he jettisons ords and then switching to his buddy who doesn't and shooting him down.  Next pass they learn and they all jettison as I switch from one to another.  I'm looking forward to being home in a couple of days and busting up more hordes.

Those 40 red dots aren't AI planes generated by HTC.  They are players that enjoy flying in the horde. Few will post here saying how they love flying in the horde, smashing a base and vulching but the fact is many, many players enjoy it.  My take is that most folks think hordes are fine if its their horde.

I've been in a friendly horde with some of the most ardent anti-horders and they oddly seemed pretty happy.

As absolute phenomenally crazy as this is going to sound....people actual pay their sub to fly how THEY want.

You cannot and will not change that by whining, complaining, cowtowing, browbeating, or posting about it ad infinitum on the formum.

Welcome to reality.
