How many people seen HTC lay a line in the sand and ask everyone not to cross it... and then proceeded to walk up to said line and jump head first over it into the brick wall just on the other side. :headscratch:

The person who left may have been a nice bloke to people but he still broke the rules, and was given many chances to stop.

<S> to BB and thanks for the help that he did give me.

Off topic note:

In addition to crossing the line, then yell at HTC because they chose to broke the rules and cross said line.  While it was humorous and funny sometimes, a while back, it seems lately many are doing it for attention.

I think an account should get a number that their account can get 'ruled' on.  So you make a post that violates the rules.. say 10 times, then you lose chat privileges on the BBS for a few hours or days. Getting really old seeing all these rule violation posts.
If we have something to show we will & do post shots, if we have nothing new to show we don't.

Making a stand against the guy making a stand over a game isn't much better....dood.

I didn't make a stand against anyone or anything.  I simply stated my opinion.  People are free to do as they please and I'm free to state my opinions as long as I don't cross whatever lines HT and crew have drawn, which I'm no longer sure of.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

I only spoke to bluberry twice and he looked like a very cool guy.  I was hoping that as the laws changed around here I was looking forward to go visit him and "smoke a bowl" and shoot the breeze.  I guess eventually I'll find him somewhere somehow.  things just happen like that in the world.  like when I went to my old xo's house to install some closet doors and didnt know it was him but i recognized the 327th hat by the door.

but on the other hand it seems weird to post a thread to say good bye to a guy that cant read anything on this bb.  well, if any of you guys close to him see him, let him know that I really wish the rules were different at my work and I would take him up on his offer someday.

So wouldn't this very post of yours be a rule violation since you admittedly are going off topic?

And he stated his.  You can peddle that opinion line to whoever might buy it but It's the same.  It's dressing up a pig.

While I'm sorry to see anyone leave, I'm a bit of a convert on this rules thing. Back a few years ago, you see, I too got suspended a couple of times. For a while, I copped a 'tude about it. I did this even though I knew better. I mean, I fully understand the desire HT has to keep this forum open and accessible. The last thing "the enterprise" would want is to sponsor the equivalent of a lowest-common-denominator electronic locker room. So, after two strikes, I got over it, grew up a little about it, and decided that, instead of treating this virtual place as some kind of electronic dumping ground, I'd actually conduct myself here as I do "out there" in the real world.

That seems to work pretty well. I don't want to put words (or anything else) in Skuzzy's mouth, but I get the distinct impression that he allows the rules to bend so long as people are being respectful with each other. I won't cite specific evidence but I well remember a thread in which we were actually talking politics. The discussion was focused on questions of fact... until somebody came in and took a big dump on the whole thing. At that point, Skuzzy had little choice but to storm in, lock the thread, and suspend some offenders. That's a pity - but it wasn't his choice or doing that made it so.

So, while you'll see me sarcastically kid about an "anything goes" forum where porn, drug deals, and profanity are the order of the day, I don't thing that's anything the enterprise should or would sponsor. That's just me doing the reductio ad absurdum for those who want to race to the bottom.

I have no idea what happened, I'm not going to "play along" to try to figure it out. All I'll say is that, we're technically on someone else's property, here. It'd be my property if I owned some share of the enterprise, but I don't. I'm a customer, not a shareholder. Customers can be shown the door. I was given plenty of warning, so I suspect others are probably given similar treatment when they step over the line.
