I appreciate all of the support and enthusiasm on the ALLIED side given the setup and unbalancement of the sides. More than I expected.
You guys did a great job overall if you look at the ultimate outcome of the team. Yes some got wiped out in the first few minutes but many soldiered on to the very end. Several squads were handed nearly impossible missions to accomplish with AC not well suited to the mission role like the Gun Fighters, 1841st, 332nd and the 327th. Defending V75 in IL-2's. BIG <S> to you guys
The 49th did far better than I had expected in attacking V27. Another BIG <S> to you guys as well.
The ALLIED operation in general was more defensive than offensive since we didn't have the numbers to conduct offensive and defensive operations without losing at every location. So I meant the min's required by the rules and placed heavy numbers where I could at V-154 in the south and V-45 in the north. In the hopes of wiping out the AXIS Strike Packages before they could reach the targets themselves. The AXIS bombers did make it but generally paid a heavy price from what I could see from the towers. The low level action at V45 in the north was one of the best fights I have ever witnessed. And the little I-16's going after the Stuka's was classic. If you were there you could go F3 mode in the V45 tower and witness at least 3-6 individual fights all circling the tower. Epic in my opinion.
Throughout the frame 3 engagement period the AXIS started with about a 40 pilot advantage again. At some points the AXIS advantage was + 50-60 and then down to only a +30 pilot advantage near the end.
By the logs it looks fairly even in destroyed AC and objective destroyed by each side. Many of the AXIS objectives destroyed by the logs wont be counted as they were attacking no point value target bases like A8 and A135. But point value target to target it looked fairly even from what I can gather. The final tally will tell.
Again <S> to the ALLIED side.
