Polish Enigma Codebreakers
« on: July 04, 2014, 10:11:31 PM »
Back in the heady days of my youth, I once did an essay for a history prof at Uni. Got a good mark, but his comments were that I had not given enough credit to the initial work done by Polish codebreakers. As his specialty was Enigma and the Ultra secret, he would have known.

The BBC website has an article today which illustrates some of the bits I overlooked.

http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-28167071
... missions were to be met by the commitment of alerted swarms of fighters, composed of Me 109's and Fw 190's, that were strategically based to protect industrial installations. The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

What could you joke about?   If there was a faceplate emoticon, you would get it and I am part Polish myself.

Scherf, I thank you for posting that good read.
