Actually these guys were all knights defending their port P59.

I am sorry for the terrible video-quality btw. I have never made a video before, so I downloaded this program free-trial just to make a raw screenshot of my film viewer. I guess the direct ahf would come out better. But you get no time to actually enjoy the scenery in this film anyway, so I did not bother to change it.

Ah Tropical Thunder. I quite like those fellows.

I use OBS Studio. Also free and you can use a keyboard shortcut to start and stop it.  :salute

Great video! The snap rolls you had where those on purpose, or too much rudder at a slow speed, stalling a wing? What were your speeds? You dropped flaps often and a lot through most of the film.

Oh a one last thing..... to all those people that want to add music to their videos, THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT! It was loud enough that I was tapping my foot to the beat but not so loud that you couldnt hear the flaps moving up and down or even the vox. It wasnt a "music video", it was background sound, it was perfect.

No it was some random guys I don't even know if they were a squad. I asked who they all were before I landed but they declined to answer, so I decided to leave their names out in my video.

Thanks. All the snaprolls were intentional.

I am sorry for the short answer earlier, I was on my phone and my Tapatalk-app was lagging so bad that I could not type anything. But to answer your initial questions, yes the snaprolls were intentional, since I was so slow they became my last resort option to twist out of the situations. And I was under such constant pressure that I never got to build any E back, so constant flaps work to gain as much E as possible before each manouvre, then full flaps and rudder-kicks with balanced used of ailerons to keep the snaprolls somewhat controlled. And it worked pretty good each time, I only got minor pings but no damage whatsoever.

But it was a constant no ending series of close-calls, both mentally and physically exhausting. And by the end my WEP started failing also, so I was glad when I finally could break away and get some rest.

The speeds were pretty low most of the time, as I had to use full flaps just to keep it afloat at times. And as I said, little to no time to raise flaps and gain E between the attacks, so the snaprolls were essential to my survival here.  :noid

So I've got a technical question / discussion point about both of these films. I think in both cases (not so sure about the P-51) that both of your opponents can out sustained-turn your Ta152, correct? Is it not the case that in both cases they try to play it safe by zooming out of their overshoots - sort of 'running home to mamma' - if you will. Bit too much playing it safe? Going to what they've practiced the most?

So let's say NikonGuy, slots in behind you with two notches giving him a decent rate advantage, then what?

lol pretty much.

Seems he was going to fast to dropped flaps, but yea if he had slowed down and remained aggressive(maybe not gone for the shot he took) I wouldn't have had many options considering how early my lead turn was. I supposed my thinking was that since they had so much more speed than me entering the merge I could make my turn early and have them in gun range when they blow through. The p51 doesn't fall for it initially the way the p38 did, He goes into a shallow climb before turning back into me. I would say their mistake wasn't that they weren't aggressive enough, rather they were aggressive at the wrong time, If that makes sense.

I do believe both the p38 and p51 have much better sustained turn rates, atleast at those altitudes. Not easy to shake any of the late war american birds in the 152, they are however particularly vulnerable when in a disadvantage though as they are big and can't E-gress well when pressured.

Yes. I think it's an an expression of where overly-safe gameplay takes you.
