This is kinda freaking out my wife and I.

Our son is in school in Ontario Canada and is due to attend the Model UN at Harvard, they leave on Wednesday.

If the storm hits later than expected they could be driving in (on a bus) during some nasty weather and road conditions.

It *should* be over by Wednesday, if not we aren't sure what to do.  We don't want to mess up a chance to be involved in a great event, but.......

For the most part, don t worry about it. Around here we get this crappy all the time and most people know how to handle it. Those that don't save the rest of us more trouble by staying home. If it does turn into a problem that will cancel the trip.

Don't worry about it.  They know how to clear the roads in the NE and they have the cash to pay for it.   Times/places to worry: 1) Late in the session, some of the smaller local governments may have blown their snow clearing budget.   2) Below Richmond/Northern Virginia - they just do not have the experience, equipment and salt supplies to handle a big snow storm.  3) West Virginia and points west and south of Ohio.  (i.e. Kentucky, Tennessee etc. ).  As I found discovered a year or two ago, they just do not budget realistically for snow removal.  (Jefferson county West VA they have four guys and two large snow plows to clear 187 miles of roads....).

There will be no flights in or out tuesday and limited operations starting up on weds.  If he has a flight scheduled on weds, it may go sideways.

Heh... i used to live there. West Virginia has one highest gas taxes in the US and yes... none of it goes to clearing the roads.

My take is this. In WV, If the kids are out of school, the plows go back to the garage. Leaving people who work for a living to brave the treachery. They must forget we have to get to work to pay their salaries.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

He is on a bus.  They actually leave late Wednesday I am told so they should be ok.

Just another snowstorm....

I'm ready. We are sending employees home at 12:30 PM. Closing the business tomorrow, and we'll wait and see what Wednesday brings...

My regards,

Probably so...  Maybe some delays getting through the aftermath.  If he's downtown he should not have to worry about lack of power.  They are predicting two to three feet through weds morning and 60 plus mph winds so it will be a mess but doable.

 Curv,

Right now it's sunny and just above freezing,I'm about an hour or so away from your Kid!

If you want I can give you a heads up on the weather on Wed. The storm is going to bypass us to the south.
