I hate how every electronic device these days has a shrill, blood-curdling beep. Not just one beep of course, one would be overkill as it is.
My microwave oven beeps 5 freakin' times when it's done - to go with a beep for every keypad press.
Well, not anymore it doesn't...
Found a youtube video on the subject and it inspired me to action. There were two screws that required some goofy star-shaped screwdriver, but I was not deterred. Put my trusty jigsaw to work converting them to flat blade screws and the rest was a piece of cake. I took great joy in snapping off the evil device, instead of cutting the wires as demonstrated in the video.
Now, there is no more ear piercing beeping, only blessed silence. And in a few months, my a/c units will get the same treatment.
