2nd P38 FG added to Target for Tonight Scenario

As the title says, the 2nd of two P38J Fighter Groups for the upcoming 12 hour marathon scenario, has been activated.
I asked to be the GL of the 20th FG & they said yes.

So I am asking those that I fly with, whether regular or on occasion, and that know me; and any & everyone else, that love the P38s to join the 20th FG.

I plan on going for the whole 12 hours. Its a Saturday, why not be a dedicated player(masochist)    12 hours 

A cooler full of beer and cornbeef sandwiches by my side    Yes, I will go for it.

So join in the fun, this scenario will be AH History in the making - be a part of it.

Last i knew the 49th was gonna have everyone fly what they wanna fly with other squads. That being said I wanna fly a 38 since its my main ride and my all time fav A/C. Would the 80th FS want to sponser 2-4 49rs? I will bring along my own wingman or possibly up to my own flight. Lemme know Im asking the day off so i can fly the full 12. <S>

While I am a member of the 80th Headhunters, for this this scenario I will be the GL of the 20th FG.
and you and you squaddies are more than welcome to join up with the 20th FG.
Bring as many as you can and spread the word that we are recruiting.
As far as I know, so far, registration is not open yet.
But is supposed to open this weekend.

My parents met in late 1943, on the P38J assemblyline at Lockheed, Burbank.
That's why the Lightning is all I fly.

Why do you like the P38, just curios ?

P38 is my favorite bird of all time. Thats why im in the 49th FG in game. I use to fly with the 113th Lucky strikes on their squad nights but since were rook we dont get the chance. Ive learned the German are in dire need of defenders so I may lead a 110 unit. But if I can lead one then ill joyfully fly with yall. Most of my kills per tour are 38s and LW side its the 190F8 but im a better stick in the 38 on any day. <S> 49Boob

You sound like what would be an asset in that post.
Afterall the XO leads the 2nd part of the group.
I take it you prefer loose deuce tactics ?
As opposed to welded wing ?

depends on the situation. welded wings great to start and if it turns into a TnB you can transition to a loose deuce easily. We fly in pairs alot. Ill talk to 49Merlin and see what he thinks im tossing around options but XO is a fun job. Is the "20th" doing a sweep or escort?

Don't know yet, it could be both. Afterall, this 12 hour concept has never been tried.
In all seriousness, I think that the amount of players who are going to go for it may be bigger than the planners could have drreamed about.
This scenario could gather momentum as it progresses with walk-ons.

I agree about entering in tight, as I call it, but then, if needed, loose deuce & rolling scissors to finish the job.

G6s 110G2s and A5s are the opposing fighters correct?
the 38 should have hands down dominance if the pilots know how to fly it right. And if effective wing pairs are used there shouldnt be any issue. The only up they have is dive speed in the A5s. If we can keep the guys from being super aggressive it should be relatively easy with only a few losses.

Can we have a locked forum to discuss tactics and "lay out the chess board" if you will. Set up several differnt stratagies so we can be flexible with they different intercept options/sweeps they have and be able to counter them effectively?

What we discuss in the Allied section of the scenario forum can only be seen by the Allied side.
There is your safe forum. Just go to the Allied Forum of the scenario and look for the 20th FG.

I heard back from the other option i was looking into. I know the axis will need all the help they can get and I do want to Lead a squadron. It looks as if I was offered a CO position with the under dogs. This is pending but I am leaning towards the 110 if things change I will give ya a heads up but as for now it looks like im gonna be your target. I hate turning down a 38 slot and I may kick my self in the arse for it but good luck! <S> 49Boob
