I think that Ohio State is becoming like Kentucky in basketball that gets awesome talent and will have some turnover, though, as players will go pro earlier.  It will be fun to see, and I suspect that they'll do great.  I'm a Michigan fan who wants both Ohio State and Michigan to be very, very good!  :aok

Brooke I agree.  Makes the BIG stronger.

I am greatly looking forward to football season.

I'm eager to see which quarterback Michigan will go with, how he does, and how the defense will be with the new coordinator.
What I am reading is that Wilton Speight is actually holding on to the starting job, but o'Korn has more athleticism. I am just really looking forward to year 2 under Harbaugh and maybe just maybe seeing some of this freakish ability of Tyrone Wheatly jr. at tight end. Hes gonna be behind Butt, and Bunting. McKeon and Asiasi may get playng time as well but more likely one of those two will be redshirted. Two of the more freshmen coming in caught suspensions for some reason Amir Mitchell and Shelton Johnson. Mitchell was more high;y touted and even was at Signing of the stars.

If Michigan ever gets on par with Ohio state(its possible but not gonna happen right away) it will be huge for the conference as a whole with the increased national exposure not saying that Jimmy don't keep M in the news anyway lol) and may help teams like Illinois or Penn State get better(IMO). i think Maryland already helped themselves by getting Durkin who was already a know name with Flordia,  So now Durkin can pull kids from Flordia and Ohio.

Washington is getting a ton of hype this year with petersen as thier coach but Illinois hired lovie Smith and you have to belive he can get that program moving in the right direction and I think Indiana is expected to be scary again this year they ended up 6-7 but they took OSU, Michigan, and Iowa to the wire they also got blown out by penn State and struggled with Southern Illinois and Western Kentucky(not that those are marshmellow teams) if that says anything.

I forgot to mention the AP ranked the greatest Football Teams since 1936.  The AP as many of you know, has ranked football longer then anyone.  Before the BCS and during the AP  is still in business and was the standard.

The Number 1 Football Team of all time is.................The Ohio State University!

Here is the article and explains the rankings.

http://collegefootball.ap.org/top-100

BTW Urban Meyer has a great Coaching career (he is an Ohio Boy) and coached under Earl Bruce.  Many forget that the great Paul Brown led the Buckeyes to a National Championship as Coach at OSU in 1945.

The coaching tree in Ohio has the largest of any state of Coaches that were successful in NCAA Football and the NFL.  After all...the NFL was born here in Ohio!  Football is King!  Boy is born in Massillon Ohio, football

is placed in his crib at birth.  It has been tradition for many many years.  Massillon/Canton oldest rivalry in the states.  And in the fledgling NFL.  Google it sometime.

George Halas and Paul Brown coached there.  O     H     I     O!

Urban Meyer stated " this years team, is the fastest team I've ever coached'  They're only 6 returning starters from last year.  This is one helluva statement from a Coach that won championships at Florida and OSU.

That poll is skewed and biased.  When considering the pinnacle of NCAA accomplishment, a National Championship, the top three in that poll fall short.

Only skewed and biased because you are a Bama fan.    ;)           The AP explained it.  It is a continuance of success throughout those years.

The choice of who was rated and won the championship was in the APs hands.  The sportswriters of America.

We've only had 8.  But have been in the top 10 more times then anyone.  It's the total of success.  And  BTW how do you like your BIG Coaches  :aok

And I might add the last time Bama faced OSU it didn't work out all that well for Bama now did it?

I love college football, all teams I appreciate.  I watch a lot more then  OSU.

Alabama picked #1 (the kiss of death) by AP  :bhead
but I am an Auburn fan. Oh well, GO SEC  :D
Ram

I predict they'll fall to number 4 or 5 in the polls just before mid season, the press will poohpooh them as over-rated, then they'll claw their way back to number 2 or 3 and somehow come out on top, again. When you're coached as well as they are, you can come back. Unlike those teams that have 1 or 2 standouts and/or a lackluster coaching staff.

And they always have an enormous amount of talent on the team.  And, they are poisonous!  ;)
