Need some help finding joystick parts

Howdy, the little cable that come up trough my warthog stick base keeps braking at the the ps2 connector, I have fixed it several times but alas I have run out of slack in the wire to make the connection. I have tried to find a replacement but to be honest I don't know what the cable connector is called, i have found 2,3,4 pin connectors but I have a 5 pin connector and they seem hard to find, any help from the electronic gurus to steer me in the right direction would be awesome 

*edit to add* It is a six pin connector but only 5 pins are used.

I had the same issue. I increased the length of the cable by splicing wires in between the ps2 connector and the existing wires. The hope is that the extra length will keep the wires from breaking at the ps2 connector. I did the repair about two months ago so I can't really speak to the longevity of the fix, but for now it seems to be working.  Unfortunately I didn't take any pics of the repair, but it's pretty straight forward. If you do find the connector please post the part number and where you found it.

I wrote to them and they do sell some parts but not that one so I am told, they said ship it back to be repaired, round trip shipping was over 100 bucks, I could probably buy 10+ connectors for that.

splicing in longer wires would be my next step if I cant find the correct one.

[Edit] I just figured out that your problem isn't the connector, it's a long enough wire!

You already have the connector, based on the pictures it seems to be intact. So all you need is the wire and fitting replacement pins into the plastic frame. The pins should come out using a needle to push the flap/clapper/whatever_it's_called down.

You might even be able to salvage the cable with pins from a USB to motherboard cable widely used in front panel card readers and such.

I can lengthen the wires, but sooner or later the splice will end up in the center of the swivel joint and that wont be good. Just looking to find it with about a 8 inch lead, that way I can just pop the ps2 connector out and re solder it with out taking the whole stick apart.

If I understand you right, we're talking about the same thing. Cutting the wire and adding an extension in between isn't a fix, it's a workaround.

Anyhow, you were asking for the connector, not the wire. As I said, you already have the connector. What you need is the hollow pins for new, longer wires. Or longer wires with the hollow pins attached. Then you just slide the old pins out and new pins in into the connector. Also, the flat strip of wires looks exactly like the front panel wires in some computer cases. Not only USB as I suggested in my previous posts, also the front panel audio uses that size of pins and their cables are usually longer. The front panel LEDs and switches apply, too. I have a bunch of them salvaged, but the mailing costs would be ridiculously high. Go check your local computer builder shop for some last millennium stuff you could get for next to free.

What is the need to have a connector?  If it is factory assemble ease then just solder the wires right to the pins.
