well my bets made it through to the knockouts but I'm not impressed with Portugal messing up Iceland's chances in the next round.

Feel a bit sorry for Wales vs N.Ireland but I guess one of them will be guaranteed a QF place which they would have taken before the start of the tournament.

The draw does seem a bit lop sided but we can't say the French fixed it because they are in that half.   Should make for some entertaining matches!

PS:  Did anyone happen to see Lionel Messi's free kick in the 0-4 demolition of the USA?   Pure genius.

It's not just because they are Tottenham players but they are the best pair of defenders in the EPL.

Ireland beat Italy. Now would it not be something if they beat France also. Riots if that happens.

THIS is exactly what soccer means to me.  It is not about the players it is about the conduct of the fans.  The destruction they cause the world over is disgusting.  Soccer needs to clean its game up.  When I lived in the UK we had to endure violence in the city centre every time there was a match on.  I do not miss that one bit.

I did.  Big fan of watching Messi (and Barcelona) play so it was bittersweet to watch the US lose.  But Argentina is #1 in the world so it's kinda expected.  US still has a shot at third which for us would be a big accomplishment.  Hell even 4th would be huge.   :)

Italy rested half their team and had already qualified.  Can't see Ireland beating a full strength French team.  Providing England navigate Iceland carefully it will be a France vs England QF in Paris.

USA will win one of these cups soon and everyone will be like football is way better than NFL.

However lets not de-rail this thread from the Euros commentary tyvm!    :D
