First gun ever was a Red Ryder BB gun....and yes I shot myself in the eye with it...well...actually I was shooting at one of those big punch balloons (if your in your 40s you will know what im talking about) and it bounced back and hit me in the eye....5 days in the hospital, no ill effects.  Should change my call sign to Ralphie   :D

First real gun... Savage 99 in 308 when I was 10..and it hasn't stopped since then

1937 Remington 22 pump with an octagon barrel,  parents used it to shoot rabbits and snakes and other little critters when this area was still farmland and fairly open, still have it, I guess to many were produced for it to be valuable money wise, but either way I wouldn't part with it.

Ps supplemented my gun need much later on in the late 70's with a S & W 357 4 inch barrel, still have that one too

Price depends...... for a 22 some of those are pretty pricey.

AFter seeing a few BB gun replies, if we're counting air rifles, I too had a Daisy BB rifle (smoothbore, but whatever) for a couple years prior to getting a .22.  Pop used to buy the large containers of BBs in the bulk packages, and I wore 1 rifle out, and got "up gunned" to a better model with a bit higher velocity, when the first Daisy died.

"You'll shoot your eye out".  My parents, sadists that they were, enrolled me in a French immersion school from k to 8.  I had a teacher actually give me that line, but in French - " beaucoup garcon perdue les oilles par cette pellet la".  He tried and failed to intercede on that xmas present with my Father. Nearly doomed in a 2nd language at age 11...

I hadnt advanced that far,but I know better now and have a war club based off the Iroquoian Natives war clubs!

I do have an old daisey,it's from the mid 1950's and the only marks are found on the lever. It's a old beach wood stocked version but need the piston serviced..... BB's basically drop out the barrel.... :rofl

AK 47 during stupid comunist mandatory military service; wasted 1.5 years of my life sleeping in 40 beds overcrowded rooms, weekly group showers with cold water like cows, stinky kaki clothes, boots chewing bleeding my legs during marches, eatting potatoes /beans mixed bacon and sand and drinking tea with bromide .

First real gun I used a lot was my old mans FN Browning .22lr pump action (trombone). It's been passed down through the family, and he's not using it anymore so it's coming my way permanently.

1967 bought a 12 gauge Browning Trap gun, single barrel, single shot.  I still have it and I still shoot Trap at the range/gun club.

Beretta 92FS 9mm, Italian-made with the straight lower frame "dust cover" (they taper some now).

Although my parents bought numbers-marching U.S. Border Patrol Commemorative .357 Magnums for we kiddos long before I could even pick one up.  Maybe that's my true first.
