uhI am pretty sure he said "I will immediately volunteer for Allied XO."
Red, and Dan, you both can count on me to help you guys out! I'll see if I can't stir up the immersion for us in this one!
Good to hear "B".We'll be looking for it. Isn't it about time you stepped up to GL a squad?Take a peak at the list and choose one. There is a first time for everything, right?
I actually just contacted the author of Door Knob Five Two, about purchasing his book on his experiences in WWII, as a P38 pilot. He served with the 1st FG, 71st FS, so his book is perfect for this scenario.
Don't waste your time. His peers in the 1st tore the book apart as he fabricated much of it or put himself in situations that other pilots actually experienced.
Well then, any other recommendations for P38 memoirs from the MTO during this time period?
The 1st FG history by John Mullins. "an escort of P-38s""An Ace and his Angel" by 1st FG ace Herbert "Stub" Hatch
