Salt,

Did you ask for any help?  Or are you just assuming that you are not able to do better?  I have had a ton of success with many others claiming the same, and that was even before they really began to tweak the beta.

It is probably a good idea to do some sort of upgrade, but I can tell you that many have made an even worse mistake by simply "upgrading" to something newer, more expensive, and yet no more USEFUL when it came to running AH3.

Your best #1 response should include your dxdiag.txt attached.  If you don't know how to do that, ask.  #2 Be patient, it should only take a few hours before someone will have a competent answer for any question you may have about improved performance (ignore those the start with Viagra comments).  #3 DO NOT buy anything just because it advertises as a "Gaming System" you will most likely be disappointed, and OVERCHARGED.  #4 Why cancel your account if you are getting 15 fps, unless you are experiencing warpy gameplay, the fps is only going to be a number to compare performance, you eyes may not even detect the difference.  With one button click I have seen others go from 15 fps to 50 - 60 fps.

Hi Chili,

Thanks for the reply and I would appreciate any advice to make the game faster. I have a laptop with an AMD Radeon r5 m240 w/ 1G vram. I emailed skuzzy a few months back and he said this setup was insufficient.  will my dxdiang.txt will be in the ah3 folder? If so I can post it right a way. Sadly I have a laptop so I cannot update the video card. also I live in China where computers are nearly twice as expensive as in the US (unless I want a substandard local brand) so I prefer to buy another laptop during my next US visit (taking a desktop through customs is a sure way to get stopped and duty charged). I am experiencing warpy gameplay when there are other players/guns firing etc.

Salt, if Skuzzy has already said your laptop being insufficient, it most likely is. As you said aptops are almost impossible to upgrade, the few options available won't really improve gaming.

As for the DxDiag, it's a Windows tool. Read Skuzzy's instructions here: http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,71591.msg3215282.html#msg3215282.

One hint: If you're going to stay in China semi-permanently, how about a desktop computer? One dating from the last five years beefed up with a new(ish) high end video card shouldn't cost too much and it would run AH3 much better than most laptops. A real gaming laptop costs a four-digit amount of $ anyway.

I've got an older system by today's standards that still runs the game well by my standards.

Yep, but still would be interesting to see if you have it tweaked.  I see this GPU compared to the 6800 GT here: http://graphics-cards.specout.com/compare/23-48-2421/Nvidia-GeForce-9800-GT-vs-ATI-HD-3600-Series-vs-AMD-Radeon-R5-M240  Although it does have the 1 GB video memory, the memory type is DDR3.  The memory bandwidth and interface bandwidth are a fraction in comparison.  This might be where your performance threshold has been breeched.

However, if your received this news 3 months ago, I am not sure if DX11 had been rolled out yet.  To get the absolute most, #1 turn environment map slider in the graphics detail menu to "none", #2 reduce the max texture to its lowest setting.

will there be mid and early war arenas available? Looks like you will be losing many of your older, long time subscribers.

I doubt it would be actually many, considering the fact that both arenas had been about empty most of the time. The number of people that had made any of those as their primary arena was exceedingly small (we talking about something like 1% or so).
Which doesn't mean that HTC won't bring them back nevertheless, but we soon will know ;)

I agree with Lusche, that the limited plane set arenas never grabbed that much attention.  I am more concerned with the continuation of the "stealth" land grab game play that makes it difficult to find "willing" combatants in air war.  If last night was any example, I was on for about an hour with a medium sized map, and was only able to scratch at 2 engagements (actually one and a half, the last guy was trying his hardest to duck and scoot his way to a nearby base = fail).  The other engagement was a Me163 that hid on the deck after take off and then zoom climbed to attack me sight unseen.

I would like to see some stats on the behaviour of EW/MW dwellers and what was achieved in their time.  I'm guessing lots of trains, road convoys, 2nd account killing for perks and achievements etc etc,.    :noid  :D

Ok. At least couple more weeks but at least something fairly concrete. Give some time to upgrade now that they know its happening soon.

Very Nice !!
frame rates are really good now too.

a question:
should we take screen shots of our perk points and achievements just in case?

I would hate to lose 25k of gv perks.......ouch.
