In my thread over here:-

http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,386565.0.html

I argued (quite convincingly I thought!) that the new total WEP time modelling for consumable-based WEP was incorrect. For my favourite plane at least. Obviously I'm motivated to correct that fault since it's a profound disadvantage over the previous modelling (which by omission transpires to have been more close to accurate).

Anyway, it has been suggested that this won't be changed due to manpower or simply the fact that changing one plane would be a precident for changing them all or that any system is better than no system.

I think at least some of the new total AHIII WEP time allocations are arbitrarily arrived at (pattern-matching etc). I thought my thread might inspire others to at least check their own favourites, but no.

I am therefore volunteering to undertake or lead the research to arrive at a more true-to-life / representative set of data. I propose to contact those forum expert historians in this plane or that and arrive at a new proposition for a new table including all planes, peer-reviewed, referenced, unbiased, transparent and validated against available data and in those outlier cases make some sensible propositions working from known data points.

It takes a tremendous amount of reading, studying and consultation to do such a task. I am willing to do the work for free if the staff of HTC are willing to revise the AHIII WEP modelling after we are done and the disputes are reasonably settled.

PM or notification here will set me to work. I can work either in confidence or publicly. Please let me know if this is wanted.

I see what you're saying. The fact that my Ki-84 WEP post hasn't been moved means it HAS been accepted as a bug. Fantastic

nrshida,

I can categorically state that if you did the work to research actual WEP avail time for each platform/model, and cited sources, that I will:

1)  Read it
2)  Peer review it (Though it might take me a little while, I will do it)

...

I can't even guess if the owners can or will use it, but it would be a neat project none the less!

It depends. I tend to enjoy the full Spike Milligan spectrum of optimism.

It is jolly decent of you Rodent57 old chap, partly why I made this a public post to see if people would help. Thanks very much. I think I wouldn't do it without the green light from HTC though, it took me hours & hours to do the detective work for the Ki-84. I got no feedback for it so far.

Can be inclined to lose an overview of where I put energy

Not at all, it is accepted as a bug report, many bug reports are not bugs.

This is a bit ambiguous. Are you saying an erroneous Ki-84 total WEP time is a deliberate choice then?

Nope I am not saying that. I made absolutely no comment on the validity or your bug report.

I do like this idea a bit - the way the different models achieved their WEP is a valid point.  Is it just overboost?  Are you injecting a consumable like MW50 or Nitrous?  Modeling this in a more realistic manner on each ride wouldn't be that difficult.  Rides with consumables would have a fixed amount of WEP and once you burn it, it is gone.  Rides with overboost that just automatically kick off when the engine gets too hot would be the interesting bit - I'd suggest letting you keep the boost on, and then after x minutes you get an increasing percentage chance per minute of blowing an oil line.  The "x" minute mark (and the rate of overboost into engine overheating badly) would vary by engine.

We are here to concentrate on fighting another not concentrating on the engine.
