Did I miss something?

After just 2.5 days into the tour, the WW1 arena is already showing over 1,600 kills. Which is almost as much as last tour total (and more than the total of the tour before that). But each time I looked at the login screen, the WW1 arena was shown as empty. I know a couple of guys is using WW1 whenever the Melee arena resets, but this is is quite an anomaly.

So what happened? Had the Melee arena been down for an hour?

I noticed there were 15 in there shortly before the start of yesterday's scenario when I logged in for a quick practice.  Also noticed it was a Free arena and wondered if that was the reason?

Might be the last update HTC changed it to where one is not required to have an account now to create arenas, along with what Flossy posted about the WWI arena is now listed under the Free Tab now....

But it has been free for many months now, and still I never see anyone in there when I check the numbers. So it almost looks like for a short time (when I was not looking  ) almost each & everyone jumped in. The kill numbers are 15 times higher than expected after 2 days.

After Friday night's Melee reset, there were 30 people in there.

Turns out many people had no idea there were tabs with other arenas in the list.  When we moved the "Free" tab to the front a lot of players though the "Melee" arena was down.

The eye is not easily drawn to them.   A bigger font or staggered tabs may help.

I logged in several times yesterday even with SMpizza map still up and saw 10-15 players in there yesterday (Saturday), they were veterans of the game, did not see any new names.

I've often thought that and it is exactly why I include clicking on the 'Events' tab in my announcements for special events.

You should remove tabs altogether and just list all the arenas in one place.  No way to miss anything that way.

Just replace tabs with different colors to signify between free and pay arenas:




There are the added benefits of making the number of choices look larger as well as making the overall population look larger.

WW1 has a small group where we usually meet on the weekends and have some wicked fights once a few people go in there more people join in the fun. Think I spent 2 hrs in there Friday night before the combat challenge.
