Photobucket showed all others how not to do it. I believe others will be more professional and keep making money.

PB just helped all other photo sharing sites.

It is only a matter of time before imgur goes the same route as photobucket.

Who would you recommend? :headscratch:

I'd recommend hosting your own. Then you have control over what happens.

I host my own.  I do not have any recommendation.

I also host my own.  I don't see me holding any of my photos hostage any time soon.  They've been in the same place for over a decade.

Built a Linux server, running Apache and bought a static IP address from my ISP.

Google photos wouldn't be a bad option. First 15GB is free, $1.99/month for 100GB, $9.99/month for 1TB, and more if needed.

With all my postings on these forums Photobucket has locked every image I have posted and my account unless I pay $400.00. To unlock services to post on a third party.

Just a heads up for those who use the service.

Thus the reason I pay for my own site and coppermine gallery.  I can host, link, and post anything I want to.

If you have a google email you get some hosting space for free and it seems to work fine so far

I finally got Photobucket's $400/year e-mail demand today.  I deleted all my images from their site then deleted my account.

I predict within a couple of years photobucket will be a distant internet memory.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

I think you guys are being optimistic concerning how long they will be around, but I have learned to never underestimate the power of stupid when it comes to people and their toys.  In that vein, they may never die, and could be the next Microsoft. :)

I've been parking my screen captures here at Postimage.org. They are a free host used by graphic artists.
