Family road trip.
« on: August 17, 2017, 11:39:58 PM »
Five hours of driving behind us, and made first stop, at a friends house. The wife thinks we are going South to see the eclipse. Little does she know tomorrow we will head north for a stop in Providence Rhode Island, to see more friends. She will be pleasantly surprised to find out we are traveling through New England, and spending a few nights at my uncles house (as she calls it her dream home) in Bar Harbor Maine. She hasn't traveled on the East Coast, so it may take until we cross into New York State, for her to realize, we aren't going to see the eclipse. I will make up for her not seeing the eclipse, by taking her to Ben and Jerrys on one of the days.

Now there's a man who knows how to treat a girl to a good time.

I wonder if we'll ever hear from John Gault again...?

Ben and Jerry's instead of an eclipse? It would be a surprise if he returns...whole. :x :bolt:

My Wife would rather have Ben & Jerry's than look at an eclipse.

Mine too. It would be cloudy and raining anyway.

Had to make a stop at the national helicopter museum, which we really enjoyed. I recommend, if you are ever in Stratford Connecticut, it is worth stopping at it.

No, not something I can do anytime, I work two jobs, and only get one vacation a year, and this has been a trip, she has been wanting to take for awhile, she is more than ok with missing the eclipse, something that will only be quick, opposed to taking the 2 weeks, to drive around and see the things she has been begging to go see.

In April 2024 there will be a total eclipse of the sun like this coming Monday but in the US will start in Texas and travel to   MAINE.

Maybe you will be able to see it then.

I am a huge movie buff, so one of my way points was the pet sematary house, the owners were amazing, and let me on the property, and were excited to see us. The wife was scared of it, but i was fascinated.
