Heh, big pharma aren't known for their scruples. Look at the big Oxycontin thing - heralded as the "Best new painkiller, most advanced ever created, and NO addiction problems like morphine and others!". What a giant lie that turned out to be, Oxy - while I believe it can and does help many, even a majority - did spawn a whole new era of opioid addictions in the West, it was certainly first, before Hydro, Fentanyl, and the worst like carfentanyl etc. Purdue done paid out them some big fines for the "addiction proof" lies.
