Canyon fire in Orange County California
« on: October 09, 2017, 06:55:24 PM »
Been watching the fire approach to about 1-2 miles from my home.  Jets are dropping fire retardant with spotter planes marking where to drop.  Helicopters dropping water and evacuation notices a buzz on our TV and phones.  Dang Santa Ana winds are not helping the containment of the fire.  Not sure if they will stop the fire from destroying the neighborhood.  Lots of old growth pines, eucalyptus and oak trees on my property.  I hope we don't lose the old 1927 Spanish home.

one-eye i hope they manage to stop it and save your house. I grew up right around there. They have had some really hellish fires there over the years, and in the U.S. this year.

stay safe.

Be safe 1eye.  Sorry to hear that Fugi.   :pray  :salute

Such beautiful countryside  :pray  It was the one area where I really was reminded of home when I had moved to the west coast.

Be safe 1eye.  I'm up here in Northern California the Napa fire has us smoked up pretty bad in the Sacramento valley.  Such a massive, devastating fire.  Last weekend the winds were up so bad, I knew we were going to get lit up.  Take care, be safe.

Here's hoping both of you and your families stay safe.  Don't do anything stupid.  You can stay to long at the party.

My condolences to your cousin and family.  But as long as everyone got out safe, they are ahead of the game.  I hope things go better for them.
