While in ship gunner mode

I am still getting discos while in 8 inch and 16th inch guns when I am in dx11.  Also while moving guns in the 5 inch position I will occasionally get a view of straight up.  This usually occurs while moving the stick in a brisk manner while tracking inbound aircraft.
I've tried to reprogram the stick which is an X55 and the controller recognizes the gunner mode but only allows me to adjust as if it was in aircraft mode rather than gunner which I can see on the menu.

CTD firing 8 inch guns.  Hasn't happened in quite a while.

First time I fired the guns after selecting and aiming in "land mode".
