TOD #1
London Calling

The first frame of the TOD will start Friday Aug. 10th, 11 PM Eastern time.

The following squads will fly Axis or Allied this TOD.

Allied Squads
332nd Flying Mongrels
Fat Drunk Bastards
VMF-323 ~Death Rattlers~
56th Fighter Group
332 Viking Squad
Arabian Knights

Allied Frame C.O.'s
Aug. 10th  "fatty"
Aug. 17th   "ripsnort"
Aug. 24th  "ammo"

- - - -

Axis Squads
416 RCAF
Rouge Squadron "Shoot Em in the Face"
The ASSASSINS
The Screamin' Blue Messiahs
Jagdgeschvader 52 -Los Bravos-
JV44 Wurger-Staffel

Axis Frame C.O.'s
Aug. 10th  "nash"
Aug. 17th  " borete"
Aug. 24th  "wotan"

Frame C.O.'s may request larger squads to do two missions. For example the ASSASSINS have the largest squad, if their mission was a buff run then could also provide the escort, but this is entirely up to the Frame C.O.

Also it will be obvious that some missions must go together.  I would be foolish to have a squad take C-47's to an enemy field when the Frame C.O. did not assign the missions listed to jobo, or level bomb the same field.

Timing is also up the Frame C.O.  If they want a squad to take off 15 minutes after the hour they need to communicate that to the squad or all squads will roll at the default time of 5 minutes after the hour.

*Note all squads participating in the TOD's. The missions written are designed to encourage enemy contact, but cannot not guarantee action.  There is not a mission written where their will not be any enemy activity. Though it is possible a squad might have to patrol two or three sectors/two or three fields and through timing miss an enemy attack.  I flew in AC once for almost 2 hours and never saw an enemy ac, I know others did also. This is the nature of the game.   :)

Lastly in TOD #2 we will use the other 6 C.O.'s as Frame C.O.'s.

If I have not been clear on something please ask away.

When and where do us lowly un-squadronites get to apply for a guest spot?

Just to flesh out Wotan's answer a bit. To register as a guest, hit the TOD banner abover, hit the TOD link on the left hand side, then hit the guest registration link. Pick a squad that is listed as welcoming guests, hit the CO link and email that CO to request a spot with them.

Thanks Nash.  I looked at that page just before I posted but didn't notice the link.

Heya Daddog, I'm probably not the only one with this question...

Can you explain what's to happen between now and the 10th in terms of planning?

I'm assuming the Frame COs will be e-mailed either a mission list or given the types of planes enabled at certain fields, and we'll come up with some kind of plan that we e-mail to the squad CO's? Or...

I'm just not sure. Can you expand on this a bit?

In a few days, this weekend for sure the C.O.'s on the 10th will be e-mailed their mission list. They in turn will look at the 6 or so squads they have and decide out of the 10 or so missions they receive what missions will be flown.  They will then simply e-mail each squad and tell them what mission/s the have been assigned and what field they should roll from.
***What planes are available at what fields are listed on the TOD site in the event description.

Frame C.O.'s can tell the squad what planes to fly or they can let the squad decide.  :)

After that they are done. Pretty easy being a Frame C.O.   ;) I suppose Frame C.O.'s might have to answer some questions, but come Friday at 11 PM Eastern "everyone" should know what they are doing. Squad log on and at 11:05 PM they roll.

Here is an example of some missions that a Frame C.O. might be sent.
Allied Mission List
JABO Enemy field 7 targets ack.
JABO Enemy field 2 targets ack.
Coastal Patrol Fields 43, 44, and 49.
Coastal Patrol Fields 54, 55, and 56.
Heavy Bomber Strike Enemy field 7 targets all hangers
Heavy Bomber Strike Enemy field 2 targets all hangers.
Escort Bombers to 7.
Escort Bombers to 2.
Troops to 7.
Troops to 2.
Fighter Sweep enemy fields 19, 20, and 21.
Fighter Sweep enemy fields 3, 4, and 7.
Photo Recon enemy port 61.

Now with only 6 squadrons I don't expect the Frame C.O. to assign all the mission, but he will have to pick and choose what he thinks is best.

For frame 2 on the 17th those Frame C.O.'s will be e-mailed a new mission list several days prior. Some might be the same, or they all might be different. They might even all be the same. They then do the same thing all over again. Look at the missions and assign them to the squads they have.

Personally I would give all the squads with 4-6 pilots just one mission. Maybe a squad with 7-10 missions I might give two, unless it was a buff run.  The large squads that might have 15 pilots I would likely give two missions, but this is the call of the Frame C.O.

Other questions?   :)
