Did anyone else go see The Predator?
« on: September 22, 2018, 01:59:49 AM »
I thought it was pretty entertaining overall.  There were a few things that I disliked about it but it was definitely entertaining and there were many times where the whole audience erupted with laughter.

The original came out when I was in grade school and was probably my favorite movie when I was in elementary school back in the 80s.

Anyone else see it yet?

No... sequels, in my experience do not live up to the first  :aok

but....

What about special effects and current year and stuff?

I quite liked the prequel they made of The Thing for those reason-ish reasons.

There's nothing stopping a sequel from being good (Aliens, T2 and etc) other than the makers putting out crap.  For every Aliens there's 50 AvPs, unfortunately.  I was mildly hopeful for The Predator, but I'm not tremendously surprised it's not stellar.

Effects cannot improve a garbage script or acting.

Mauler does hilarious, in-depth movie reviews:

"Then out spake brave Horatius, the Captain of the gate:
To every man upon this earth, death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better, than facing fearful odds.
For the ashes of his fathers and the temples of his Gods."

If Arnnie is not there to yell, "GET TO DA CHOPPA!" then you can count me out.
Toxic, psychotic, self-aggrandizing drama queens simply aren't worth me spending my time on.
