"When one considers just what they should say to a new pilot who is logging in Aces High, the mind becomes confused in the complex maze of info it is necessary for the new player to know. All of it is important; most of it vital; and all of it just too much for one brain to absorb in 1-2 lessons" TC

200 isn’t the new guy not staying issue.  It’s the intolerable fights in the am when one side is crippled in the am with 25 eny planes and are chasing typhys and 190s until the European side logs on then it’s a steady gang bang on one side of which no one will up in.
Let’s start with the fact that this game hasn’t had enough players for a few years to warrant a good two sided war, much less a three sided war. Then let’s address the participation trophy spots that were built into the game like field guns and magically appearing wirbs, or the awesome 800 yd main gun shot from a t34 on a spit going about 250. 200 isn’t the issues. It’s the guys that get there feelings hurt when they are continually called out on 200 for running. Or the guy that gets it for upping the wirb at tank town when a good fur ball is going on.
Not sure what would happen if you guys had to go out into a new game that didn’t have all these participation awards and there wasn’t a mod that you could go to because they made you fight and picked on you cause you wouldn’t.

The question is:   Why should any player be subjected to ridicule for using any game features and tactics?  The whining and finger pointing by players about another player not playing by their standards are a little childish.  Each player is entitled to fly or use any available game features as he/she likes.  Players need to quit complaining and berating other players.

I agree with your point.   I have been subject to plenty of abuse.  It's only when I started giving it right back to the bullies that I became "mean" or whatever.

That's how it works. But it's still good to hit them back with their own medicine. The great psychological misconception is that "it's okay when I do it, but when they do it to me, it's an outrage"! Also can be used as a tactic.  I've learned from AH actually that if people say mean things to you, do it back to them. Or embarrass them. It works. We can't always have mommy put them in time out.

Yeah, like that dang German guy Oswald Boelcke.  What a noob. ;)

real life vs a game again. In the game nobody dies.Running in a combat game is a waste of everyones time.

That is your opinion.  You are free to fly the game as you wish.  You are not free to tell other people how they should fly.

Some people want to dive in and mindlessly furball without concern of odds or disadvantage.

Some people want to practice Dicta_Boelcke because it adds an interesting layer of complexity to not just shoot at the first plane in front of you but to continually calculate the odds and rewards of any action and to know when to press the attack and when to deny the enemy the advantage.

Both are perfectly valid ways to play the game.  I've had fun doing both from time to time.  I'd never be so arrogant as to tell anyone that one way or the other was wrong.

Your mileage may vary.
