Classic - <S> AK's
« on: March 05, 2019, 08:58:59 AM »
Just wanted to say something nice. (I know, i'll probably make scuzzy/HTC do a double take)

But.... A big salute to the AK's last night for some classic squad action.

My heart raced as I investigated a huge "dot" formation, thinking I'd found the rare, I think the elders called it, a mission!

It turned out to be some angry cats being rode by Arabian Knights! what a glorious and awe-inspiring sight!

F6F's everywhere, and my N1K both slashing through and trying to run away at the same time. I KNEW I was hooped, but it was suddenly about trying to get 1-2 seconds of life out of my N1K and pride didn't want those hellcats to get me just yet. The tower cometh too quickly it seemed.  :joystick:  Good fun.

A NOTE TO SQUADS:

If you are flying "squad night", think about putting up a pickupmission. If you were on the rooks and asked for joiners already showing 8-10 pilots in the mission. I would have joined no issue! Please think about posting a pickup mission when your crew is rolling like that as I'm sure you'd have interest in joining...  If it's pure squad night and you're all yacking away and don't want 1-off's, I get it... Just know that this pilot would LOVE to join up and be part of a "big wing" in the MA.

 :salute AK's

always fun flying with AND against you... Except Shrike... he thinks I pee'd on his airplane... (it was actually his jeep for the races, but don't tell him that.   :devil)

 :salute

Tuesday night is POTW squad night in rook country and we operate as a group breaking a target or fighter sweeping into a hot area. The DickWeeds at 9pm on Tuesday nights up a massive B17 mission to try for deep targets in bish or rook land. Pigs look for that and up 262 flights to search for them. We have some epic entanglements along with they try different strategies to trip us up. We can put up about 6 262 most of the time with the rest in late war monsters.

We don't post missions, everyone just tags along once they realize all the pigs are heading somewhere loaded for bear. We never make it a secret on DAR becasue we are stirring the pot to get a reaction. Occasionally we drop everything and defend a field or one of our tankers gives a shout about a juicy ground fight. Then we launch with tanks, wirbles and supply M3 to keep our tanks supplied.

Mostly we just break stuff until the owners show up or loose their vacation property..... but, we suffer piggy ADHD, so yelling "squirrel" will have us running off chasing lancstankers or checking out why some field is flashing. The MA is like a cat in a room when the mouse cage door pops open and the floor is filled with too many distractions.

lol...we traded kills for sure.  That was our Jabo/Sweep mission for the night.  You guys caught us before we made it to the target.  Unfortunately, I was Winchester there at the end and was trying to get lucky and fly my way out.  Thanks for the call out and for challenging us.

Thanks sir!

It seems we may need to change squad night to another night.  I am beginning to think people sit in the tower and watch the map to find our missions lifting  :D

Watch out for what we call our "Double Down" mission.  We take a hanger queen and do a fighter sweep.  People salivate when they see a P-40E, then all of a sudden, there are 10 of them...

Thank you for your perk donation  :D

I have to give you credit for sticking around.  Most people would run home seeing that fighter cover...  :salute

All,

We generally start at 9pm EST on Monday nights. You'll know that we are having the plane captains kick the engines over when you see 14 of us online. You guys are most welcome to join us on VOX 173. You don't have to be an AK to be apart of some of our heart-pounding missions.

We also don't mind having regulars to fly against. We plan missions in every airframe from every country during the war.

Yes, it is some of the most fun you'll have with your pants on.  :D I think...  :headscratch:

Join us or fight us, we'll fly accordingly.  :aok
