Yeah got the cable, but I need a USB-A male to USB-C female adapter, should be arriving shortly.

Quest Link working, runs nicely with AH. FPS tops out at 71 (whereas my CV1 tops out at 90).

I can't get my Quest to be identified by the Oculus PC software. More troubleshooting required.

Are you using a USB 3.0 port?

Yep. I'm not sure the extension cable I got is not 3.0. I need to connect my USB C cabled directly to test. Will do Sunday.

My USB-A to USB-C adapter is just a dongle, not a cable.

Well derp... Oculus software version 13 kills Link compatibility.

So apparently don't run the PTC Beta versions (turn off the beta option). This creates a mismatch between the oculus software and quest firmware.

I had another play... some observations
 - FOV feels bigger
 - images don't feel as sharp, possibly FOV related
 - Quest MIC sucks, very low pickup - this is a known issue
 - actually feels a bit smoother than the CV1 in tracking and head movement
 - Audio is a bit meh due to the speakers in the Quest, if you cup your hands over them it's sounds good so it's a design issue for the type of game I suspect

Yeah I haven't had a lot of the issues on my Rift S others are having since Oculus consolidated their software and I'm on the PTC. A lot of bad experiences to be sure. I have had a performance hit since v12 & 13 tho but found a trick to get around it. If you run the oculus debug tool there's a setting called something like GPU scaling. Turn that off, stop oculus service, start oculus service. It'll run better now. Unfortunately, the setting reverts back if you reboot your PC so you have to reset it each time. Oculus has to be aware of this as I found it on their forums and on reddit too.
