How much bomb damage to destroy ground targets?

1 1000lb bomb does 1000lb of damage, 2 500lb bombs = 1124lb of damage 

So I remembered something correctly

2,781.3 lbs. (When in doubt, you can always look up the hardness in the arena settings)

If every bomb hits directly, that's either 2x4k or 2x2k or 3x1k or 5x500 or 9x250 or 18x100
Why 2x4k? Because the 4k bombs in game are limited to HC or LC (same thing) and do only 2344lb of damage

That can only happen when the hangar had been damaged recently (or in a special arena with custom hardness settings).

Well, there is egg on my face now. Yup, it's kg. 500 kg = 1,102.31 lbs.

500 kg = 1,102.31 lbs x 3 = 3,306.93 lbs per drop on a salvo 1 release.

While not listed as a 4k bomb the German 1800kg (almost exactly 4000lbs) bomb is able to destroy a hangar. Their 1000kg AP is also able to do it. Back in the days i used a Ju-87 with the 1000kg AP + 2x250kg for attacking GV bases and ports. 1000kg on the VH and the 250kg:s for vehicles.

The SC 1800 is the bomb with the highest damage rating in game, as it is a a GP bomb while it's 4K cousins are LC/HC  (and thus reduced to 75% damage, but with a 25% greater damage radius)

Well I take back everything I said, I can take down a hanger with three 1000s or six 500s in a Lancaster no problem.  I guess I just never really ever went out without a formation.

I swear I've been able to use a single cookie from a Lancaster to kill a hangar.. weird.
