Author Topic: Base Capture Bug? Or am I missing a setting? (Read 904 times)

OK, I'm 99% complete on my terrain and I decide to test it.

I set a field to knight and I am bishop.
I launch a C47 and fly it to the knight base.
In route, I use the destroy objects function to flatten the town and take out the ack.
I drop the troops and they run into the Maproom...poof poof poof 10x...Map Room Destroyed...BANG BANG BANG BOOM!!! I'm dead.
WTF? It stayed Knight and the ack rebuilt and shot me down.

Thinking maybe it was be cause I use the "Destroy Objects" function, I drove an M3 to a V-Field and killed the ack before rolling in and dumping the troops.
SAME THING happened...ack came up and killed me. The field did not switch to my country!

Why?

How many bases for each country do you have? Lets say you only have three for each country, and you capture that third one; Well, the game sees that country '#' has only two fields left and orders a map reset since the war is over. The base resets itself and the AAA precedes to blow you away. I'm not sure if that is the problem you had, but that is where I would look first.

27 Bishop
26 Knight
26 Rook

i have notice that as well since about two updates ago, and i have also heard about the lest than 2 bases thing. but i have played on alot of maps with alot of bases for each, and the very first one i try to capture, it tell me that some other coutry has captured that bases and that my country has won the war and bang, I'm dead... i have change and toggled every option i can find and still no capturing, beyond that first one.

Out of morbid curiosity, delete one of the Bishop bases and let me know what happens. I don't think it will have an effect, but I am just curious to know.

Also, are you using standard airfields, or did you make your own? You mant to zip the object file and post a link. At the least, Pokie is a MASTER of going through the object file and finding errors.

This is a bug that happend right at the release of the last patch, it was that way on the host for about an hour before we fixed it. It woun't be working correctly offline or H2H untill the next patch is released.
