Lets say you plan a Strat Run route. Weave your way around radar circles to be discreet. Meanwhile the Dar Bar is giving away your progress. Not exact location but it identifies you as in the sector. Kinda foils the effort of dodging radars.
In my experience, many players use to give the darbar just a cursory glance. And as darbars are slow moving, they often tend to ignore it, going for quicker engagements instead of trying to figure out if the con in that sector is inbound or outbound.
In fact, I saw countless of huge raids creeping slowly across the map, getting called out by some of us for 20 inutes or more... just to appear almost unopposed over their target with the majority of the country now screaming ALER ALERT and wondering where the enemy just came from
It's amazing how many players can not (or will no bother to) read a darbar.
Also, too little information is not good for a combat game either. If you are able to totally avoid getting located while cruising at >20K, you could as well play offline, because there is no real danger in getting intercepted anymore.
