Key Reason why ENY is stupid

In the example used there are 37 total players

Map size, number of bases is a much larger issue than eny imo in that case.

With only 37 players you need about 5 bases total on the map.

By concentrating the action many other issues are solved by default

how many players would just quit if this happens? i would be one of them. no bomber runs, gvs would be limited, no base taking, only vulching or picking.

would be easier if hitech would just close all arenas except for user created.  see how well that goes.

or the feeling of taking b17s to 20k and fly for 3 hours while listening to "by the dawn's early light".

some people don't even know that hitting strats gives you fewer perk points than hitting nearby enemy towns but strats help more up to a point.

Good thing, because most people can only do that once in a day (assuming you have a job or other matters to attend to). I can fix the ENY problem for myself only once. At certain times, one person can make the ENY fluctuate by 8.

Ah, the irony of 'the expectations of HT.' Do you expect him to agree with you? That aside, you do know that changing to the side that is outnumbered (by total population on the roster) will allow you to fly the low ENY plane you may prefer. That isn't left to interpretation, at all. You are free to stay on the high population side (for whatever reason, be it 'country loyalty', squadron separation anxiety or even just plain ol' obstinance). HT leaves the choice up to you. But ... sides that enjoy the advantage of numbers (whether or not they actually TAKE advantage of such or not) will have their equipment choices adversely affected. That, also, is not left up to interpretation.

I've come to appreciate that element of design more and more ... and you won't see me run to the forum to complain about how unfair it is or how that one thing is 'killing the game.' I don't adopt that ... interpretation.

You seem to be addressing complaints I haven’t made. I never said ENY was “unfair”. so explaining why it’s fair or whatever it is you are explaining, really misses the mark.

I said it is an inconvenient, needless hassle, that creates frustration without benefit. If you think it makes people happier, you're free to explain who, and how.
