This is the first Dora skin using my new 190D-9 template. Thanks to Oboe for providing the pilot skin.
This skin is an adoption of VonMessa's original skin. Reference material for any Jg 11 Dora is nearly impossible to find and the reference material for this plane is fairly dodgy. The only photo of this plane, W.Nr. 211132, was taken at the factory before delivery to Jg 11. It had no squadron markings at the time. Just crosses and data stencils. It was built on December 5, 1944, and that date was painted on the cowl. Paint is dark camouflage colors on top of RLM 81 brown and 82 dark green (note: RLM 81 and 82 both had green and brown shades, each with a wide variety of tonal variations. Late war paints are a mess.) The RLM 81 wraps around the wing leading edge all the way to, and including, the gear doors. The fuselage sides were painted with a medium shade that I presume is the green/brown tinted RLM 76, while the underside retained the standard light blue-gray RLM 76. This is the only example I've seen of fuselage sides being painted this way. The engine cowling "power egg" was painted separately from the wings and fuselage and is painted with RLM 82 brown tint over standard RLM 76.
Based on the information VonMessa provided with his original skin, W.Nr. 211132 was assigned "Black 4" and flown by Walter Krist. It was surrendered at Leck, Germany at the end of the war.
