Thank you to Lyric1 for finding me the info for this skin. This is intended to be an adoption of one of Krusty's old P-47N skins labelled ''413FS/414FG'' which has similar blue/black markings to this and is numbered 764 and 488741. However the 413th FS actually used yellow tail markings and from that group it was the 456th FS that used blue markings and 7XX squadron codes. Also the P-47N with that airframe code does not appear to have been issued to a squadron. So in light of all that I am intending to replace his skin with this similar looking one and rename it ''414FG/456FS''.
''Huey'' was a P-47N of the 414th Fighter Group's 456th Fighter Squadron based on Ie Shima island during the final months of the war. From here they carried out very long range escort and strike missions over the Japanese mainland. Apart from the Disney character nose art it had the word ''DITDONC'' painted below the canopy. This may be referring to a French term ''dit donc'' that indicates surprise, a bit like ''wow'' in English. Alternatively it may refer to some obscure Air Force anacronym of the time. The lines on the wings are dive angle references that the pilot would line up against the horizon while in a bomb or rocket attack run.
