but I didn't know there was a chance loophole. most of places around here found up to next dollar.

Ham is pork. Evidently you do not like it smoked. Back when I was in the meat business, I can't tell you how many times I had women complain about a fresh ham tasting like plain porn. Well.... that is exactly what it is. They associate the smoke flavor with ham. LOL

As for giving back change, you start by giving change starting with $.01, then $.05, then $.10, then $.25, then $1.00, the $5.00, or even $10.00 and $20.00 to the cost of the item til it adds up to what the customer gave you.
