Humor works because in it is an element of truth.

I prefer dry-to-the-point-of-sarcasm, surrealisstic, misdirection-based humour myself, but I am from a strange village.

Bit weird you need to be told this buddy but idolising one individual to this extent and using that person's 'achievements' as a lever to squeeze those you (irrationally as far as I can see) don't like is a bit disturbingly creepy. You basically forward the domination-is-the-only-thing-that-counts theme but you don't do it yourself. Crushing your enemies, seeing them driven before you and hearing the lamentations of the women is something people with something missing in the noodle-sack worship.

The inferrence being pressed: that the only worthy endeavour is winning at all costs conflicts directly with the evidence that a lot of AH players are just enjoying their hobby or pursuing their own goals such as flying with squadmates collaboratively, challenging themselves with their own set of goals or simply playing Air Quake. Sure there's always people diametrically opposed to you and fuedin' is an all-time favourite of the homo sapiens for sure. There are limits.

Skyyr is presently the closest thing Aces High has got to a professional fighter-plane player in both hours and activities. I really enjoy fighting him as it's good to have opponents who push you and make you disassemble your whole technique. Luckily for me my ego-gland seems to be considerably smaller than my ooh-ooh-new-stuff-to-learn gland. Seperating the personality, motivation, technical-knowledge, strategy and execution gives you a persepctive you seem to lack.

Now go have fun, everybody!!! :joystick:

We are. We are all doing our own thing. Perhaps you'd care to also fly and broaden your narrow groove of trolling others with someone else's stick, so-to-speak.  :old:

Skyrr has been a good player. Doesn’t puke all over 200 nor the bbs like some crying he’s back, he’s been a lot less trouble than those who obsess with destroying others here. The clan of former players are a lot more trouble than Skyrr is now. I’ll take him over them any day.
 And he’s a good stick.

This crybaby soap opera stuff has gotten very old. Who’s the next target of people who don’t even play?

Obviously, someone’s word is about as dependable as a wet book of matches.

I have a question for Skyyr and other GOATs. Why does it seem to me that the best pilots insist on flying the best planes? Wouldn't it be more challenging/satisfying to get kills in a non-uber plane if you're that good?

Game should limit this...

Force those us with decades of experience or high scores to stay in mid/early war planes

I'd be all for it but my guess is many would whine like little girls..

The running from engagements is already bad enough.. having newbies in faster planes just taking pop shots at vets in slower planes will just mold them into poor form.

I used to fly 38 exclusively, but typically to compete in the MA you need speed simply so people can't run from you.

Yep.  I think limiting what planes people can fly will cause people to quit playing.  There's already people that log off when ENY gets up because they won't switch countries.

38 is a magical plane or at least the elevator is as I recall. I recall many times shooting the elevator off of a 38 and it continued to fight as if it wasn't damaged.

I hear ya. I remember switching to the d9 at times to run down the pickin ponies. I found it interesting how unskilled most of the running ponies were once you caught them. Seems they would be better off fighting and getting better then to just rely on running. Seems boring to me.

If there were many targets to be had I'd always go for the highest pony cause I knew he'd try to pick me as soon as I engaged another plane.

They part about the ENY is true too. It always amazed me how much people were dependent on low ENY planes to "have fun" I used to do pretty well in the mossie, g14, la5 and f4u1 and all those are 25-30 eny planes.

Personally I think that ENY should be dynamic as to get more hanger queens in the air.

If there are 20 ponies in the air then the eny on it should go down and down as more and more take to the air.

If you dust off of F4F or a P40 or something that isn't flown much and are the only one in the air I think you it should be 40 ENY for example and maybe get a multiplier like the side switchers.

Speaking of side switchers. It doesn't seem to help much when 2 countries gang one but I guess that's what happens when you have 3 countries.

Or...

Map could limit planeset for just that rotation...

Oh the horror of being limited to ew or mw planes for an entire map cycle!

The variety it would offer might actually be louder than the crying and wailing lol

Think that would be easy enough to test

Mid war month gets my vote!

It's good to see some things never change and kinda sad that some things never change. Makes for some good entertainment though. Good to see some old faces in this thread still getting after it.
Almost 30 years of reading threads just like this one with the only difference being the strength of my readers and shades.
