Mayhem:  Well honestly by your statement then the days for this game are numbered, and the way your making comments then HiTech doesn't really give a crap about something he worked so long and hard on. Understandably he will get burned out on keeping this game running, but I thought that he had some help in that Department I also understand financial constraints, and how they work. But overall I guess what I am saying is that this game will soon be bone.

To be honest the days have always been numbered for this game, just like any other game. However this game still has the bones to continue on for a long time lumbering along as it is.

I dont think Hitech "doesn't really give a crap" about the game, after all he does keep it running just upgrading the speed to the server. I just think he is busy with something else right now. 20 years ago this game was his passion, now its been replaced by something else. I wish he could pool together a number of player/volunteers to manage the game now. Im sure there are plenty of players that have been here years and could be trusted to manage minor tweaks to the game BBS, and website much like he has stream lined the skin updates using players to do the skinning as well as run the approval process so all he has to do is load them up at the beginning of a tour.

Creating a bit of traction by word of mouth might start out with a small ad that the rest of us could push the crap out of, who knows what else could be done.  Heck a go fund me for "Air Show" sponsorship might be something to look into. The game isnt dead yet.

I'd assume as long as he can keep the servers paid for, he isn't going to let it go anywhere.  Like what you see, or don't

I don't know what that number of subscribers is, but I know there is plenty of fun to be had in US primetime.  The new maps our player base is creating is helping with that too.

Thanks map makers and skinners!  Now if only we had some good sounds!

I'm right there with you Lazerr, a good sound pack would really enhance the game, IMO. :rock

With the current engine.... sound packs are pretty much a thing of the past. The vine can live on it's own for only so long.

FMOD is a very robust system for the sound and has lots of options. The issues are learning the program, and getting the sounds. Challenger had made a good start and his son said he would look into it with the sounds his father had. Its just not as easy to do as it was in the old ".wav" days.

So we have zero sound packs now. Being robust means nothing when it is near unseable.

FMOD.... Another "improvement" that actually made the game worse.

But the way it works is very cool. The sounds we have are no bad, some just look for change. he .wav days were easier for us, but FMOD is way cooler for the game as a whole. I would pay more attention to updating SOME graphics like explosions to compete with modern sim effects visually. I can do that, but I'm not sure what file type or resolution the current system will accept. The current are not horrible, but a refresh would be nice.

It's his brother Dan...no matter, we get the point.
