It was strange driving through riviera beach after securing the house and seeing zero hurricane preparations having been performed.

The hurricane winds were blowing hard and it looked like looters were prepositioning themselves……by walking aimlessly around the streets.

It looked like the aftermath of a hurricane that hadn’t yet done it’s damage.

Some of us are not too worried about the news over hyping a hurricane that is hitting some 300 miles away to be fair.
All its going to do to the east coast is dump a bunch of rain.

Winds get all the hype but the real damage is done by the flooding. Better to be prepared for the worst.

The 1900 Galveston Tx hurricane killed a lot of people. I bet they would have liked to have been warned.

Every time I see the proverbial “we’ll be fine…” I think of this story 👇. I’m not sure why it comes to mind, I’ve spent plenty of time tuna fishing and I guess it’s because I’ve seen a lot of close calls that could have gone the other way.

The post wasn’t meant to be anything other than play it safe… you want excitement then maybe go skydiving, idk. “It’s not that the wind is blowing, it is what the wind is blowing…”

The bash is still at your place nonetheless. Get the blades sharpened up on that Margarita machine. Warn your neighbors and nearest Whataburger.

Some truth to dat.

Why I watch local news, BBS or NPR. 'Just give me the raw facts and shut it.' :) As soon as it turns to hysteria and opinion it's no longer news.

Came down to check on my sister-in-law and work on Challenger's sounds. The house here has survived for more then 100 years, so not really worried.
