Or those of us who don't want to be so `visible' when we are OTD JABO'ing...those silver birds stick out like a sore thumb!

And...umm..yeah, a Razorback shouldn't be too tough, right?

The same with 56th late war markings, and I will feel like th king of the world

We getting close, I smell it, we getting close.

BTW, I will fly this one simply because I don't like the other one painting, it will give me the opportunity to salute Brezilians too. They asked for it to Pyro, they got it, I salute that, so I will fly it.

I want my Gabby's P47 with a 360 view canopy. After, you can paint the rest of them pink with Lybian markings, i don't care

Guys,

First of all... Thank you very much Pyro, I'm just delighted. I'm sure it will increase your market share in here. Congratulations for the wonderful paint job.

For those that don't know the brazilian jug... Brazil flew from tarquinia in Italy and acomplished a great job on ground attack missions. For instance, it was only 5% of the force in the theater and had more than 85% of the bridges destroied.

Besides a RAF unit, Brazilian Squadron was the only other unit to get the US Presidential Citation. I think it deseve some respect also. Of course I understand the fellows in 56th Fighter group and all 8th Air Force, but I'm real happy for this.

  Congratulations!

Just to echo Sydy's sentiments, here are a few pics of FAB Jugs from Italy during WW2.

- At Tarquinia.

- P-47D-25-RE 4106 'A4', 1st Brazilian Fighter Squadron,
Italy 1944-1945

- P-47D-25 'D5', Green Flight, piloted by
2º Ten.-Av. José Meira Rebello de Vasconcelos (95 missions)

All of these images come from a great site on the history of the Brazilian Air Force at:  http://www.mat.ufrgs.br/~rudnei/FAB/eng/toc.html

Thanks Dune.

Now I wonder if the final version will have Jambock nose art?

Well, being half Brazilian, and since I already fly the P47D-30, I guess I have found my new plane!  Looks pretty cool, I must say.

very nice. a great salute to our friends to the South who also flew with us in Italy. I read about them a few years back in the mag Aviation History. I believe the Mexicans also had a Jug unit in Italy(i think).

Yes, Mexico's Escuadrón 201 also flew the P-47 in WW2.  I've got some information on them here.  They were originally destined for the European theatre, but they ended up going to the Philippines instead, where they flew many successful air-ground missions in the last few months of the war.

I'm glad to see the Brazilians getting their bird modeled in AH.  My hope is that a future version of AH will support completely customizable paint schemes, or at least different choosable schemes for each aircraft, so that every historical squadron with a virtual counterpart is represented.
