Big applause to guys who worked on the map.
I couldn't stay long, but my first try out today was a blast. I've never seen so many P-38s in my life
The highlight of the day was when Dern and Hazed organized a 7 man 109G-6 sweep mission. We were climbing out, two of the members fell back and lagged behind, of the five, I was in the last, very behind(about 700 yards from the leading plane). We are about 6-7 minutes from the target, level flight. Everybody was gaping and gawking around how beautiful the sunset was(lol, ya pansies!
), when suddenly, a classic bounce occured. None of our five 109G-6s were scanning around properly, and suddenly, I hear shots landing in my plane. My rear stabilizers fail, and as my plane falters, I see a dark shape swooping past me into the four 109s in front of me. A staffel of 109s caught completely off guard! LLB's Typhie passes by me, and my last view was our 109s suddenly breaking off into all directions as the Typhoid passes through them after I yell "I'm shot down!"
Was great fun!
