Perks/ditching
« on: May 16, 2002, 02:55:11 PM »
I thought a ditch was worth half points?

I dweebishly ran out out of fuel in a 262, came in too fast and screeched to a halt inches from a hanger with two wheels on the tarmc

"you have ditched"

Which I thoughtwas fair enough, as I'd over shot.

"-200 perkies" said the hanger staff, which I thought was a bit rich, seeing as it was still in one piece and unscratched......

Did I misunderstand the ditch scoring? I may as well kamikazeed, it would have cost the same.

Sucks, sometimes you lose half perks when you bail out so it's actually (perk point wise) better to bail out. Ditech the plane 10 feet from the runway, save the entire plane except for some scratches and you get punished for it.

They tried the same thing in Warbirds and arose such an outcry from the masses they were compelled to fix it.

What makes even less sense is that if you park a GV anywhere on the field other than the runway it is a ditch.  How funny is that?
