Care to explain? You publicly state I'm a fool, I respond and I'm making it personal?
Sheesh.

Yes, it was; subtle, yet cutting. I must admit, I was taken in initially, and as the true meaning of the post unfolded the words took on an entirely new meaning. Of course the guys poking fun at lazs about his "new-found" knowledge make it better upon re-reading. The cherry on the Sundae is AmOn's inability to understand he is grappling with a master. He lost 'ere he began.  :D

am0n,

Just to make sure I have the facts straight...

You told lazs that the F4U-1 was far better than a 'mediocre' aircraft in AH (as compared to the Spitfire IXE, La-7, Fw 190D-9, P-51D, etc.). Effectively you were implying either/or:

A. lazs lacked the stick skills in AH to really make it shine, or even to make it perform at an 'average' level.

B. You were better in the F4U-1 than lazs.

Well, I checked your stats for the F4U-1 from tour 22.

32 kills vs. 51 deaths.

Now 6 x .50 MGs are pretty damn easy to kill with. Really good in the snapshot.

Normally, I am the first to say that stats and k/d don't mean a thing, but this is how you appear to be judging 'poor toothless harmless ol' lazs'.

I've been around lazs in a 'furball'. I figure he averages at least a 1/1 k/d and he's never coming in with an altitude/energy advantage. I've seen him regularyly score 2 or 3 kills in less than 5 seconds. This catches my attention when it comes up in the message buffer, because some blue pig flying suckwad like lazs who don't have the balls to wear real leather pants in the cockpit shouldn't be able to do that very often. 8)

But, he does. Much to the chagrin of the foundations of many AH 'experts' reality. 8)

Anyways, to put it short and sweet - compared to lazs, you suck the peen in the F4U-1. You should probably not be lecturing on flying the F4U-1. You could maybe lecture on how to bail out of the F4U-1, but you'd be an assistant instructor for the usual probationary period.

In fact, I'm so convinced that you suck in the F4U-1, I'm ya' huckle-er I mean I will fight you in it in your precious dueling arena. Unlike your 4 months, I have only 2 months in AH, and not that many sorties. Check my stats for the F4U-1, I gurantee you have more experience in it than I do. Given your knolwedge and expertise in combat flight sims in general, you will obviously 'wipe the floor' with me in that F4U-1. I'm just to stupid to know when to keep my mouth shut.

Clumsy me.

Respectfully Yours,

Mike/'wulf14' in AH.

Am0n, just so you know, I became a law enforcement officer in 1980 and worked the streets for 15 years. Although I'm not a street cop any longer, I still work for a law enforcement agency but in the computer field, namely white collar crimes and computer crimes. I just got spammed with 642 emails. I've initiated an investigation. I've been very successful in the past.

Kieran,

With all due respect, you called it wrong on this one.

Many know I've had it out with lazs over various things in tones more ugle than the AH boards have ever seen. 8)

But the baseline for all our arguments was always 'put up or shut up'. Nothing bothers me more than a loudmouth who can't back up the accusation.

For some guy who has rarely flown a given ride to lay into a guy who spends all his time in that ride, with a pompous 'I'm so bad ass' attitude...well...what's wrong with him having to answer for his actions? 8)

If you are good, and tell people that, and back up your words with actions (or it can be verified you speak from experience, via stats, like 1000 sorties in the F4U-1 would have spoken for am0n for example), then I don't see the big deal. A guy preaching to someone about how they just suck in the F4U-1 when the preacher has <100 lifetime sorties in the F4U-1 is proving themselves to be a bit of a blowhard, no? 8)

Here's another good example. That Fw 190D-9 thread. I, personally, have no problem killing anything in the Fw 190D-9, no matter how much it turns. I'm talking 1 on 1 fights here. But I'm not going to chime in. The guys typing in that thread have many more D-9 sorties in AH than I do. So I'll just leave the topic alone. Right or wrong, 1000+ sorties in a given airframe in AH at least earns you a right to voice an opinin, at least in my book.

Catch my drift?

SWulfe,

I have a leather push up bra, being a Fw 190 Psycho.

Asked FunkedUp, he has a matching one as well. 8)

Got it. Now catch mine- I am J-O-K-I-N-G with you. Lighten up.

As far as the other thread is concerned, I am not dismissing his knowledge, I'm arguing the conclusions he draws from them. I use humor to make points at times, perhaps mistakenly, but I didn't think Man and I took each other too seriously.

I had no idea you took this so seriously.

Guess I would add one more thing, though... dueling rarely settles anything. If a guy is an amazinhunk before the fight, chances are he'll be an amazinhunk when it's over. Sure, you'll probably mop the floor with AmOn, I've little doubt. Still, if the twisted logic of his postings is what is making you call him on his dueling prowess, what makes you think he'll see it any clearer if you do smack him down?

Lazs is right once again; he knows the pointlessness of such events, as do many others, I'm sure. Don't get me wrong, I'd go to the DA and watch, but it won't prove a thing we don't already know.

We had a big "Rumble" a little over a year ago, with many pilots involved. While most participants were in it for fun, two were in it for blood. It wound up pretty ugly, and did nothing to solve the dispute- in fact, IMHO it made things worse. That's history now, and things are cool, but it serves to remind us what can happen when you use a duel to settle matters.

Possible exception here might be if Man and I dueled; he first in a Spit, me in a D9, then reverse. We could go in a series, so many duels one way, then the same number the other. In reality though this wouldn't be a duel at all, rather a test. What I think would happen is he would kill me 4 out of 5 regardless of the rides, but that is only my guess. Still, if I thought ego had anything to do with it I wouldn't touch it with a 10-foot pole.

Which is why I would never accept AmOn's challenge to seemingly everyone. There is nothing positive to gain by it.
