On the other hand, according to the TOS, HTC can boot whoever they feel like, whenever they feel like, while not being tied down by set rules.

If you're worried about yourself being booted, here's a good rule of thumb:  Don't be a jackprettythang and you won't have any problems.  Easy enough.

I think SOB's message is clear.  If you want to play around in the "grey area", go right ahead.  But that is going to be subject to review by HTC, as per TOS and Rules of Conduct and HTC would act as they see fit. (obviously subject to mood swings by Pyro, mind you, and take that into account.)

As a player in this community, I would ask that players just be polite, considerate, and respective of others, plainly because, I would not want HTC to spend unnecessary resource into going after players who intentionally challenge this "short coming" in this standard.  Best yet, it would be best if we could resolve it amongst ourselves (dreaming I know).

If you go out of line by accident, all it takes is "I am sorry" or "Excuse me".  To behave as a mature member of a community, really, is that too much to ask for?

If there would be adminstrators, who could kick out misbehaving players,
some of our best pilots would be in great trouble:D

Like Fduchmn said Weave...the only definition that matters is that of HTC.

"mood swings by Pyro"

No such thing.  I mean that in a good way, but seriously too. :)

3 simple rules gentlemen.

1 Don't tell anyone how to play the game, its their money, they can play it any way they like.

2 Treat others like you'd like to be treated. Respect & consideration for everyone goes a LONG way. Yes even the guy who just shot you down.

3 Talk like you have a innocent 6 yr old on your lap. Because even if YOU don't someone else may have. And if you had a sweet little 6 year old girl would you talk like that in front of her? Really?

Here here...absolute agree with GhostH...the squad I'm in has taken to controlling language on the squad channel for that very reason.  When the area voice channel came on-line with v1.09 I personally took to getting the kids out of the room when I log on.

(granted some of that is so they won't hear what I say when I get shot down but I don't hit my mic button to broadcast it to others.)

Amen Ghosth!

But the realist inside of me realizes that not everyone who has an account is a rational, thinking person. So while those of us who do have morals and ethics about sportsmanship, respect for self and respect for others, etc...there are those who do not.

The sooner HTC gets rid of them, the better for all of us, IMO.

I'm sure someone will come along and say "I pay my $15, so I can say whatever I want!". Those are the people who HTC needs to credit their account and boot them out the arena door.

There are plenty or 10 and 12 year olds too - probably even younger ones about.  They really dont really need to hear/see alot of this stuff in MA either, do they?
