Question about Special Event start times
« on: August 07, 2002, 02:00:49 AM »
Could we not move the times to 10:00 EST? Why so late with an 11:00 EST start?

7:00 PM pacific, everybody who doesnt do shift work is home, its 11:00 on the east coast, midnight already Atlantic Time.

11:00 EST seems awfully late, I think 10:00 EST would be better.

Just a thought. It buys the EST guys another hour as it is a workday the next day Wed nights, and I see it as making no difference to the PST or CST folks.

Thanks.

Are you talking about Wednesday nights?  If so the start time IS 10pm ET for the Wed night events.  It's 11pm ET for Friday night events.

oh, don't use EST right now, we're on EDT.  ;)

Quote from Daddog:

"Next Wednesday the 7th we will host the Snapshot “Ghosths in the Darkness-Wilde Sau” at 11 PM Eastern."

So which is it?

The news announcement is wrong, unless he's changed start times without letting me or the rest of the Wednesday team know.

The start time of 11:00 was what was posted and what we were going by - until the very day of the event when someone posted otherwise.  This led to great confusion and several pilots were not able to fly when they showed up at 11:00

We got most of our people in but we had to run around to get in touch with everyone (even by telephone) to make the earlier time.

In the future it might be prudent to post such a fundamental change (in regards to what had already been posted for quite some time) with some notice and in the general forum.

As the start time for Wednesday evening events has been the time for several months now, I think it was fair to presume that Daddog had simply made a mistake in his Special Events Announcement post!  He was at the Con at the time, after all!  :D

Yes that was my mistake. I was at the con and a bit distracted. Nifty corrected my post. I would not change event times without consulting the Team Leaders first. :)

Sorry about that gents!
