How did you find AH?

Been here since day one of open beta.(Played Warbirds from V.1.07)

It was a sad day when Pyro and Hitech left Warbirds, I was worried about the future of Warbirds, and my future flightsim hobby.
After Ici games became Mol, then Imol I felt WB stagnated, and it actually did :(

So it was a happy day when I heard that Hitech and Pyro formed a new company, and started all over again :D

And now, in a relatively short time they have left Warbirds in the dust and is still accelerating ;)

I am glad I could be a part of the journey :)

You smell that? Do you smell that?
Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that.
I love the smell of napalm in the morning.
The smell, you know that gasoline smell, smelled like victory.

I always liked boxed WWII sims, played SWOTL and Their finest hour on Amiga (or was it a C64) as a kid, when Internet was not an option in .de.

Came to be a good Q3 Mod player, True Combat and   Navy Seals to name the best, and looked for something "planey" to play online.

Started out on a certain russian MMOG and looked for better graphics, better immersion. That sim's messageboard had hearty discussion on which commercial sim would be better, WB3 or AH. Tried both offline, guess which won my trials ;)

I joined LLv34 early 1999 which at that time only played EAW. Camo also did some WB I believe, and he always tried to convince the rest of us that we should try it out.
No way I would pay to play online, but after listening to Camo's endless talking about that sim he one day mentioned another one called Aces High, which was free.
That was a few days after beta opened, and I signed up and have been here since.

Swoop, I was still playing quite a bit of EAW at that time, and I remember talking about AH a number of times at Kali. Maybe that's how you found it? :)

'Flew' WB 2.77 on my Macintosh for a month or two before our squad leader circulated a thread from this very BBS, asking what players would get from moving to AH. Problem was - that AH didn't run on Mac.

Then Got job working from home with PC - never looked back, cancelled WB 2.77 account immediately and signed up after 14 days. Still wish there was an AH for the Mac tho, but I can see why it's not worth the bother.

My (co-worker) BoxBoy28, had a wallpaper of an F4U-1D on his desktop.  "Are you a WWII buff or anything?" I said.  He replied "kind of, I play Aces High online".  We got to talking THAT DAY, I went home did the 2 week trial and been with NAZGUL (Rooks) the whole time!  Bless this game and the players that still play to this day.  No matter how I razz you guys, I'll always you.

To HiTech and and the rest of HTC that Bust and Sweat their tulips off every day to ensure that they put the best product out there.   I've noticed a lot of people whining about stuff, but they realize how much time and effort you put into this sim.  You ask for feedback and get many responses to help make this enjoyable for all.  For this, we are grateful.

lol fester! I didn't twist your arm man. :)

I came over from warbirds, got a big chunk of my squad to come with me. I think I first heard about it on channel 1 in the warbirds MA. I was one of the guys online the first night of open beta. What a melee. I remember scop was here the first night but haven't seen him since. Wasn't he the F6F king in warbirds? Where be he?

Well, I use to play a game called Age of Empires II on the MSNGaming zone, and I had allways been interested in aircraft (especially WW2 aircraft) & wanted some sorta aircombat game, so I did a search on msngaming zone & somehow it came up with AH as one of the games, so I decided to DL.
I was looking for the most realistic plane game I could find, not the arcadish games like microsoft's flight sims & I don't think I could have done better!:)

after getting the boot from AWMV from ea..I followed the usmc to WB3... Hated WB's with a passion, but showed up out of respect for the Squad until one day i couldn't stand it any longer... I had been reading on the AW message boards about aceshigh and dloaded the game and did the 2 week trial...
anybody remember "Aces of the Pacific" the single player flight sim?
I became interested in flying due in part because a family member flew P-51's in ETO... And as a kid he used to take me flying in his single engine plane.... I also live under the flight path of an airport and see way more than i should at times!!
It gives you more respect for air traffic controllers after you watch a few near hits..

I was at WB. The split happened, iEN moved to North Carolina and my connects went in the toilet.

One of our squadmates told us that HT & crew had started a game called Aces High. I was already an HT fan so naturally I followed 'em. Been here since beta.
