You know what this reflects?  It reflects how the NFL today lacks the real Super Hero QB's.  I mean come on, Gannon is a slightly above average QB.  He's no Joe Montana, Dan Marino, John Elway....look at the talent level in the NFL...its just not what it was in the late 80's, early 90's.  An "above average" team like the Chokeland Raiders can win, and win big, when your faced with teams that have no talent level at the QB position.  Parity (hehe, actually IMO parody) has finally reached the NFL.

Chokeland better pray that Gannon stays healthy, you don't want Ricky in there...we (Seahawk fans) know! ;)

I'd be interested to see Tui out there though.

Tui did good for the U of Washington, but he relied on his scrambling abilities alot and had good WR to throw to.  Something tells me he won't fair so well in the NFL...though I'd love to see how he does in the "Big League" ;)

Well... Dilfer has a Superbowl ring... so does Mark Rypien...

Gannon is far better than either of them. Of course, he was a source of disappointment to the Vikings and the Chiefs and the...

but... remember Jim Plunkett? He wasn't all that and a bag when he was playing in boston.

Surprisingly, Gannon now holds the Raider record for consecutive starts by a QB.

Not surprising.  He is a superstar.  Only Warner can touch his numbers if you go back to 1999.  There is no better playmaker and scrambler in the league.  He almost never fumbles, and his TD/INT ratio is up there with some of the all time greats.  He has defensive-back speed and is very tough and durable.  His only weakness is the deep ball.  He seems to throw them either too short or too long.  But as the NFL has seen this year, the Raiders have no problem scoring long passing touchdowns with short throws.

He reminds me of another scrambler who got a bad rap early in his career and didn't break through until his mid-30's, but then exploded and dominated the league.  Steve Young.

No, I meant it was surprising based on the strong list of QB's in the History of the Raiders. I thought for sure Stabler or Lamonica had more longevity in the Silver and Black.

Rip Im not a Raiders fan. But if you watch Gannon a couple a times a season you realize that he actually dominates the game with his level head, fast legs and long arm. I bet he would be one of the top free agent QBs if they all went on the market tommorow.  Funny thing is I dont think he fits the Raiders mystique, he seems sort of out of place out there.
