I've noticed that some people seem to cheat by unplugging and plugging ethernet cables repeatedly (or doing something that is equivalent, maybe software based, for all I know) to cause large warping on demand. I've seen this multiple times, and it seems clear from the timing and control of it that it is on purpose and under their control, not just network traffic, a background process starting at random on their machines, etc.
I just had it happen tonight again, for example. I'm 1 on about 5 enemies in a furball. Everything is smooth. Then I get close to one particular P-47N, and the guy starts warping all over the place. Then I clear or latch onto another, and he's nice and stable. Then I get on him, and he's warping all over, and so on.
I've seen this before, both in fights and with folks who, during diving runs on airfields, mysteriously go from smooth while no one is on them, to ultry warpy as people approach, to smooth for long enough to line up and release their bombs, to ultra warpy right after that as they run away.
Fortunately, it doesn't happen a lot, but to totally eliminate it, maybe more-extensive heuristics would be needed to make some judgement and then disconnect the person, or to do something with the guy's representation of his plane as seen by others, to have it fly straight for a longer period of time than happens now (so that he can be shot down more easily if he tries this).
