Whats Up With Target Rabaul?
« on: February 04, 2003, 11:03:50 AM »
I've been waiting and waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting, and waiting and nothing.  I checked thier web-site and nothing.  Last official announcement was in 2001.  Like 2 yrs ago.   Have they died?

The Targetware guys often post in the forums and often about the game specifically they don't just use the news forum to make announcements of talk about the sim.

The Graphics don't look anything special.  Maybe 3 yrs ago it would be nice ..but now its probably just average.  Can you define "close" ? Open beta is "close" ...like three years more or three months?  How in the hell can they pay thier bills for so long with no revenue??  They must have sombody with deep pockets funding them.  Three years...thats almost as long as WWII...Its going to take HiTech like 6 or 7 months to develop AHII..what the hell is wrong with those targetware people.   Give me the source code-I'll knock it out in a week....

The website hasn't been updated; official statements are along the lines "we'll update the website if we get a volunteer webmaster. Right now we're busy with the project."
Open beta is scheduled for "Very soon"; probably more along the lines of three months than three years (and some would suspect sooner than 3 months).
They've also reported the project is further along than AH or WB when they went into OB.  I won't contradict that statement.
monitor forums.targetware.net for updates.

Jeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzz lighten up dude, have you payed for anything yet???  Wait until you've tried it out before you start squeaking about the Targetware staff. Most if not all of the guys developing this game work 40 hours a week, have familys all the while devolping TK and TR in there spare time, so of course its gonna take awhile. I cant give you a date because I just dont know. What I do know is that wont release a thing until THEY think its ready. Targertware doesnt want to make the same mistake as CRS and let the cat out of the bag before its ready. Its better to do it right the first time around instead of spending the first 1 year sqaushing bugs and pissing off costumers.

It will happen, just have some patience young grasshoppers:)

targetware for PC is being coded by ONE guy on his OFF time. It's a hobby, not a job.
Everything else is a volunteer effort.

From a beta tester, it's coming along fine.  Stop squeaking.

I've read some of them and he promised the world..years later and he has delivered nothing.  Their graphics engine is already showing its age and its not been released…lol.  All this shows you his business model is flawed; if you want quality-on-time work-go to a pro-not an amature.

28Sweep> They owe you nothing you are not paying for the sim and the guy you singled out for his business posts is no longer part of the project. This is a project done in free time and it's looking pretty good. Whatever you think of the graphics so far its BETA and from the screenshots it's improving all the time. I'd rather see them take the time and get the flight modelling and damage model right as well as the other core systems the graphics can be updated and improved as necessary.

You should of at least signed up to be a beta tester. I'm sure the project would have been released a year ago with you on the team. But then again that would be productive, its just more fun to whine isnt it.

Don't pick on me because they have become the joke of the Flight Sim. Community.   I got more important things to do than waste it with a bunch of amateurs that promise the sky and deliver crap......Lets make a bet: AHII will be out at least 1 year before those bozo’s move into Open Beta.

turned down ?  You mean like to be a beta tester...no..I just don't like people that don't deliver...in my industry- if you got a date to make-and you miss it-you loose your job-period.
