Something kind of funny I have noticed recently
« on: October 22, 2000, 02:13:00 PM »
While tooling around in my Zeke, I have noticed that if a C-Hog appears, something quite entertaining happens.  If someone damages it (i.e. shooting the tail off) and it starts to fall from the sky, anyone within range of it starts to shoot it to pieces.  At first, I though they were stealing kills or what not, but then the next thing happens.  If the unfortunate soul flying the hog bails, he gets strafed in his chute.  This is not just an isolated event either, I have seen several people do it at different times against different people.

Makes you think, do people really dislike the C-Hog or what?

The last chute I straffed was a C-Hog pilot that baled 1.4k away because I had an e advantage.  I still got credit for the kill.. and straffed the chute to drive the point home.

Had nothing to do with the plane.. more to do with the pilot.

I like the C Hog hype

It's especially entertaining when Hog pilots begin to believe it themselves and repeatedly spurn opportunities to disengage when a fight is going against them. This is another noticable trend I find.

Almost like "I'm an F4U, invincible, I can pull lead to snapshoot anyone," and they believe it right upto the point their wings get blown off.

Keep it coming I reckon...

Thats to funny Math

Just yesterday I shot an F4u-1c chute in my tank. Not my first chute kill mind you, but pretty rare from me

Was tracking him just outa range with MG, when someone nailed him. He opened his chute about 700 yards out, this is when the idea to shoot him just because he was a Chog chute entered the noodle   That, and ya know he coulda hung around spying(hehe), led me to pull the trigger

I don't lose altitude to kill one, but for sure if some Chog or Nik pilot bails in my nose he is not going to make it home

My 1st sortie last night I grabbed a YAK and took off from A3 headed north to A7, climbed to about angels 10, when this big, bad, bish CHOG comes barreling in to HO me, so I do a little roll to the left then climb into a wingover, reverse my heading and proceed to saddle up.

Pinged away at him from about 200 yrds while he tried to buck me off till I splashed him, climbed away, wings went level looked behind me an ANOTHER CHOG is screaming in, so  again I avoid the HO, saddle up and waste his bellybutton as well.

At no time did the thought of punching holes in thier dangling butts ever cross my mine.

In fact I rarely ever shoot chutes. But when I played WB it was a different story, cuz them crazy bastards in chutes would try to ping ya with thier .45cals, at which point I always figured "Hey he's shooting at me, I'll return the favor."  Seems my plane always won against his chute, hmmmmm, go figure.

Good thinking Mathman. I've been noticing in myself lately, that I will drop everything and go after any Chog's that I see. I had a perfect bounce on a P-51 setup yesterday, but I let him go and instead made for the Chog that happened to wander in my view. I haven't shot any chutes yet, but I'm always willing to learn!

For A2A sorties, I fly a YAK.  I simply don't have enough ammo to shoot chutes as well.
