I've landed 14 kills in one sortie in an La5.  Doesn't mean it needs to be perked.

I would argue that the reason people are forced to fly the perk planes like rutabagas is that when they get down into a fight, they're going to have every sucide-dweeb within 5000yards bee-lining for them.
