Yeah I get it, I just dont think it's very funny.  In fact I'll say I think it's a very poor advertising gimmick that won't win BMW any sales.  It's (almost) instantly forgettable.  :)  Compare it to the Honda advert....you know the one I mean. ;)

I don't think its intended to sell BMW's to Harley Drivers ;)  I think its a corporation that recognizes the importance of 100 years in business.

Tenuous link here, have a friend from Zimbabwe who explained BMW was shorthand for Bob Mugabe and the Wailers due to Bob's fondness for huge motorcades with 20 + outriders. Not sure if they were HD's or BMW's though ;)

Typically BMW riders and Harley riders don't mix much. The beemer riders don't like waiting for the hogs to be fixed every 50 to 100 miles.

LOL, my old co-worker and neighbor 3 houses down has 3 Harleys...he'd laugh at this assessment above...Harley Paraphenalia is twice the cost of BMW stuff these days.  He says 'Since the yuppies started buying Hogs, everythings expensive now!"  (Uhhh, Roger, you're making 6 digits, and live in a $350,000 house....yuppie who? ;) )

One mechanic told me once that BMW stands for -

"Bring money withya"

            or

"Bring more wallets"

Course, taking your Harley to the local dealer for any kind of service will cost ya plenty too  - but the local dealer has been servicing mine since new (what maintenance I don't perform) so I keep going back. 39,500 miles and still going  :)
