Yeah, there's a lot of folks that succumb to the "Harley Mystique" all around the world. My apologies for implying that Americans were the only ones with poor taste in scooters.

LOL Snork!  The statement you made has gone from not making sense to being so stupid that it's difficult to comprehend.

I think snork is saying that the only legitimate fun to be had on a motorcycle is when you are pushing it to it's limits and that if it's limits aren't about 6 times the legal road limits then you have poor taste in a poor motorcycle.   If you use half the capabilities of any motorcycle built today you will shortly end up under the wheels of a very large sedan driven by someone who never even seen yu or over a cliff after hitting that icy, wet, gravely patch that no motorcycle in the world will rescue yu from and then.....

you will have the humiliating death of being killed on a day glow melted plastic looking peice of crap while wearing multi colored fake race clothing.

I thought they were talking about BMWs and Harleys in this thread lazs?  What's all this talk about pushing to the limits?

Read your above statement once more and tell me about "not making sense".  If you didn't understand my comment, then you just didn't understand it. Doesn't mean it's "too stupid" or, for that matter, that you are.

I don't ride to get attention. I ride to enjoy it. I do wear bright cloths to make me more visible, but being a fairly shy person I don't go out of my way to draw attention to myself.

Snork,
A lot of people don't care for Harleys. That is cool.  I used to not care for them either. We each have our own preferences in just about anything in life. I think it would be wrong for me to say that your choice in women is sad because I would choose differently. That is very personal to you and very much a part of you. I think the same applies to your taste in motorcycles. If it floats your boat then go for it.

I suppose what I don't fully understand is why come in here in this thread and rain on OUR parade? What's the point?

You clarified the statement snork.  I just couldn't believe you would be saying something that stupid.  From vitually every aspect.  It's funny in a way.  You obviously said it just to be insulting, but it was just so stupid and so wrong that it just came off as... well... stupid.

WHOA! Let's not get into my taste in women! I was married once, and my taste (judgement) was soooo bad I never considered it again.

Why did I enter this thread? I started riding  a Yamaha 80  38 years ago and progressed through a series of Yamahas, Hondas and a BMW since. My present ride is a 27 year old Yamaha multi I saved from the scrap heap and have kept alive for 4 years now. It's all been good fun, except for the run-ins I've had with Harley attitude. I just can't pass up the opportunity to poke holes in it. So when I send a friendly wave as we pass on the road, just flip me off. Most Harley riders do, so I'll not even know it's you.

worked a wreck on a guy that wiped out a sprty 1200 custom today.  missed an exit looking at signs, wound up with a compound fracture in his lower arm and upper leg.  he also had on one of thos novelty helmets, it did fairly well.

i hear of these guys wanting to drive their m/c 200mph and it scares me to death.  all it takes is a moment of inattention by you or aunt ethel in the 85 coup de ville and its all over or worse.  your fediddleed up the rest of your life, like that guy today.

i guess i'm like the rest of the guys here, i'll just keep riding on borrowed time.

It's unfortunate that you have had run ins with "Harley attitude". I always rode yammers too. Last one was a 78 XS11. I don't care what other people ride, I really don't. I feel part of a fraternity, not limited to any particular brand of scooter.

Only time I flip anyone off is if they try to run me off the road...

Snork... you're one of those guys that would walk into a bar with a bunch of harleys parked out front, stop and say "Harley's aint worth ****".  You'd be instantly ***** slapped and thrown out only to tell everyone about that damn harley attitude.

Either that or you're airhead and you're bored with the trolling at AGW.
